Functional equations related to higher derivations in semiprime rings

open access: yesOpen Mathematics, 2021
We investigate the additivity and multiplicativity of centrally extended higher derivations and show that every centrally extended higher derivation of a semiprime ring with no nonzero central ideals is a higher derivation.

Singularity results for functional equations driven by linear fractional transformations

open access: yes, 2013
We consider functional equations driven by linear fractional transformations, which are special cases of de Rham's functional equations. We consider Hausdorff dimension of the measure whose distribution function is the solution.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

On the number of transversals in random trees [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2012
We study transversals in random trees with n vertices asymptotically as n tends to infinity. Our investigation treats the average number of transversals of fixed size, the size of a random transversal as well as the probability that a random subset of ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Functional characterization of generalized Langevin equations

open access: yes, 2004
We present an exact functional formalism to deal with linear Langevin equations with arbitrary memory kernels and driven by any noise structure characterized through its characteristic functional.

On a Functional Equation [PDF]

open access: yesCanadian Mathematical Bulletin, 1979
Let P stand for a polynomial set (p.s.), i.e., a sequence {P0(x), P1(x), P2(x),...} such that for each n P0(x) is a polynomial in x of exact degree n and P0(x)≠0. We refer to Pn(x) as the nth component of P.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

On Riemann's Functional Equation

open access: yesThe Annals of Mathematics, 1956
constant factor) if it satisfies Riemann's functional equation. This result was placed in an altogether more general setting by Hecke's work [9] on the correspondence between Dirichlet series with given signature (introduced by him), and modular functions. This paper is also concerned with that problem, but from a different approach.
