Functional Equivalence in Pigeons
Functional equivalences form the basis for semantics, an important component of human language. Among other things, they allow us to learn about objects or actions in their absence.

Restructuring binary decision diagrams based on functional equivalence
[[abstract]]A method to restructure binary decision diagrams (BDDs) from a given input ordering to any other ordering is proposed. This technique is based on the concept of functional equivalence and BBDs structure equivalence. A transpositional operator

Some equivalence theorems with K-functionals
Let \(S\) be a set of positive measure, and let \(P(D)\) be a self-adjoint, unbounded operator on \(L^2(S)\), which has a discrete spectrum \(\{-\lambda(k)\}_{k=0}^\infty\), \(0=\lambda(0)

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

Hyperosmotic stress triggers the relocation of the CFIm complex from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. This shift creates a nuclear ‘stoichiometric bottleneck’, limiting CFIm availability for mRNA processing. Consequently, specific mRNAs like NUDT21 and DICER1 undergo targeted 3′UTR shortening, demonstrating how spatial protein dynamics drive rapid ...

Estimating Equivalence Scales for Tax and Benefits Systems [PDF]
When comparing, say, the welfare derived from income by a family that is comprised of two adults and three children to that of a single adult, it is necessary to take into consideration the relative needs of the respective households.

Yeast Gcn2 retains activity following humanization of its auto‐phosphorylation region
Using Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a model to study Gcn2 activation and regulation is limited by the lack of antibodies detecting phosphorylated Gcn2. To overcome this, we engineered Gcn2‐HsC, a yeast Gcn2 variant recognizable by commercial anti‐human phospho‐GCN2 antibodies.

The roles of responses and stimuli in functional equivalence
Tonneau (2001) has provided an important critical analysis of equivalence and related concepts in behavior analysis. He quite rightly focuses on functional equivalence, but his emphasis on stimulus-stimulus correlations and respondent conditioning ...

Functional equivalence in pigeons.
Functional equivalences form the basis for semantics, an important component of human language. Among other things, they allow us to learn about objects or actions in their absence. There is good evidence that animals, such as pigeons, can acquire functional equivalences as well.

Importin 7 mediates the nuclear import of HIV‐1 integrase via a specific interacting interface
HIV‐1 integrase enables viral DNA integration into the host genome. By binding to the core domain of the host protein Importin 7 via its C‐terminal domain, the integrase is transported across the nuclear membrane into the nucleus, where integration of the viral genome into host DNA takes place. This translocation is a critical step for subsequent viral
