Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Functional Meyer-Tanaka Formula
The functional Ito formula, firstly introduced by Bruno Dupire for continuous semimartingales, might be extended in two directions: different dynamics for the underlying process and/or weaker assumptions on the regularity of the functional. In this paper,

Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein

Influence of surface chemistry on the electronic properties of graphene related carbon materials
A theoretical study on the influence of organic functional groups on the electronic properties of graphene related carbon materials was carried out. Here we report, using density functional theory and tight-binding approach, that the best candidates for ...

Functional Properties of Edible Mushrooms [PDF]
Edible mushrooms such as shiitake may have important salutary effects on health or even in treating disease. A mushroom characteristically contains many different bioactive compounds with diverse biological activity, and the content and bioactivity of these compounds depend on how the mushroom is prepared and consumed.

Functional properties of human muscle spindles.
Muscle spindles are ubiquitous encapsulated mechanoreceptors found in most mammalian muscles. There are two types of endings, primary and secondary, and both are sensitive to changes in muscle length and velocity, with the primary endings having a ...

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Femtomolar hydrogen sulfide detection via hybrid small-molecule nano-arrays
Early disease diagnosis hinges on the sensitive detection of signaling molecules. Among these, hydrogen sulfide (H2S) has emerged as a critical player in cardiovascular and nervous system signaling.

Self-consistent DFT+U method for real-space time-dependent density functional theory calculations
We implemented various DFT+U schemes, including the ACBN0 self-consistent density-functional version of the DFT+U method [Phys. Rev. X 5, 011006 (2015)] within the massively parallel real-space time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) code ...
