Exploiting a Goal-Decomposition Technique to Prioritize Non-functional Requirements [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Business stakeholders need to have clear and realistic goals if they want to meet commitments in application development. As a consequence, at early stages they prioritize requirements. However, requirements do change.

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

REQUIREMENTS AND SOLUTIONS FOR A DEVICE FOR WIRE ELECTRICAL DISCHARGE MACHINING

open access: yesNonconventional Technologies Review, 2021
Rectilinear kerfs in workpieces made of hard electroconductive materials can be made by wire erosion electrical discharge machining. However, since machine tools intended for such machining are rarer and more expensive, the problem of using devices for ...

Archimate-Based Approach to Requirements Engineering [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematical, Engineering and Management Sciences, 2019
Requirements engineering represents the most crucial stage in the complex systems development process. Contemporary methods of requirements engineering assume a wide application of models (described, for example, with such languages as SysML or OPM ...

Using real options to select stable Middleware-induced software architectures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The requirements that force decisions towards building distributed system architectures are usually of a non-functional nature. Scalability, openness, heterogeneity, and fault-tolerance are examples of such non-functional requirements.
