Simulation and Validation of Three Dimension Functionally Graded Materials by Material Jetting [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The goal of this work is to validate the material models for parts created with a Material Jetting 3-dimensional printer through the comparison of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulations and physical tests.

A novel higher-order trigonometric shear deformation theory for static analysis of porous functionally graded skew plates

open access: yesNext Materials
This study investigates the bending behavior of skew functionally graded material plates to evaluate the influence of skew angle on structural rigidity. This work distinguishes itself by analyzing how varying skew angles influence the bending rigidity of

Analysis of longitudinal cracked two-dimensional functionally graded beams exhibiting material non-linearity [PDF]

open access: yesFracture and Structural Integrity, 2017
An analytical study of longitudinal fracture in two-dimensional functionally graded cantilever beam configurations is carried-out with taking into account the non-linear behavior of material. A longitudinal crack is located arbitrary along the beam cross-

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Stress concentration analysis in functionally graded plates with elliptic holes under biaxial

open access: yesAin Shams Engineering Journal, 2014
Stress concentration factors (SCFs) at the root of an elliptic hole in unidirectional functionally graded material (UDFGM) plates under uniaxial and biaxial loads are predicted. ANSYS Parametric Design Language (APDL) was used to build the finite element

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Structural Integrity of Functionally Graded Composite Structure using Mindlin-Type Finite Elements. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper, two new Mindlin-type plate bending elements have been derived for the modelling of functionally graded plate subjected to various loading conditions such as tensile loading, in-plane bending and out-of-plane bending.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.
