COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Large amplitude vibration of doubly curved FG-GRC laminated panels in thermal environments

open access: yesNanotechnology Reviews, 2019
A study on the large amplitude vibration of doubly curved graphene-reinforced composite (GRC) laminated panels is presented in this paper. A doubly curved panel is made of piece-wise GRC layers with functionally graded (FG) arrangement along the ...

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Thermoelastic interactions in functionally graded materials without energy dissipation

open access: yesCurved and Layered Structures
This study addresses the problem of thermoelastic interaction in functionally graded isotropic unbounded media owing to a timed pulse within the framework of generalized thermoelastic theory without energy dissipation (TEWOED).

Linear And Nonlinear Thermoelastic Analysis Of Functionally Graded Materials Axisymmetric Rotating Disks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Functionally graded materials (FGMs) are non-homogeneous materials where the volume fraction of two or more materials is varied, as a power-law distribution, continuously as a function of position along certain dimension(s) of the structure.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.
