Effects of warming on soil fungal community and its function in a temperate steppe
Background The potential effects of global warming on soil fungal communities and their functions remain uncertain. To address this issue, we investigated the effects of 3-year simulated field warming on the community and function of fungi in a temperate

Ecology of endolithic lichens colonizing granite in continental Antarctica [PDF]
In this study, the symbiont cells of several endolithic lichens colonizing granite in continental Antarctica and the relationships they have with the abiotic environment were analyzed in situ, in order to characterize the microecosystems integrating ...

CAUIM: Amazonian Cassava‐Based Programmable Biocolloid
Bridging indigenous heritage and computation, this work introduces the usage of cauim, a traditional Amazonian cassava fermented beverage, as a programmable memristive‐like substrate and resistance switching. The material exhibits frequency‐dependent dynamics enabling reconfigurable Boolean logic operations.

Exploring hidden dimensions of soil fungal biodiversity: A simple technique to detect soil fungi resistant to antifungal compounds [PDF]
Soils are known to be ultimate and complex reservoirs of microbial diversity. The complex dimensions of bacterial and fungal diversity in tropical soils and microbial community dynamics are underexplored.

Abstract Interpretations of evolutionary outcomes are limited without incorporation of physiological ecology, and ecophysiological interpretations would benefit from incorporating evolutionary perspectives. Although there has been a rise of studies in the last 20 years between these fields, evolutionary studies that incorporate plant physiology have ...

Organic amendment increases arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal diversity in primary coastal dunes [PDF]
Plastic pots were inserted beneath seedlings of a shallow-rooted C4 grass species, Ischaemum indicum, with and without a root-impenetrable nylon sachet filled with organic matter (OM) amendment, at seven stations along an interrupted belt ...

Unlocking fruit dimensions: Quantification of functional traits driving plant–frugivore interactions
Abstract Fleshy fruits attract animals to ingest fruit, swallow the seeds, and release them in the landscape, thus facilitating seed dispersal and plant regeneration. Attraction of animal dispersers is achieved via attractants such as color or scent, and rewards like sugars, lipids, and micronutrients.
