Fungicidal Activities of Various Disinfectants.

open access: yesJapanese Journal of Hospital Pharmacy, 1992
Fungicidal activities of six kinds of disinfectants, such as chlorhexidine digluconate (CHX), benzalkonium chloride (BAC), alkylpolyaminoethylglycine (APE), formalin (FON), cresol soap (CRS) and povidone iodine (PVI) were investigated against 8 clinical isolated fungi, which included 1 Aspergillus niger, 1 Aspergillus terreus, 2 Candida albicans, 2 ...

Green Fuel Combustion Synthesis of CeO2 and Ag/CeO2 Nanoparticles for Photocatalytic and Antibacterial Applications

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Silver‐doped cerium oxide nanoparticles (Ag/CeO2 NPs) were synthesized using Ricinus communis seed extract as a bio‐derived fuel in a solution combustion method. The combustion reaction, carried out at 450°C with AgNO3 and (NH4)2[Ce (NO3)6] as metal precursors, produced CeO2 and Ag/CeO2 NPs.

Synergistic Advanced Oxidation and Physicochemical Treatment Strategies for Antibiotic Removal and Resistance Mitigation in Water

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The presence of antibiotics in water not only causes environmental pollution but also increases the growth of antibiotic‐resistant bacterial genes, which pose serious threats to human beings and other water residents. Large numbers of people are reportedly affected by the resistant bacterial genes, as many broad‐spectrum antibiotics are not ...

In vitro testing of fungicidal activity of biocides against Aspergillus fumigatus

open access: yes, 2005
The activity of biocides against Aspergillus fumigatus is unknown. In the European guidelines to evaluate the fungicidal activity of a biocide (EN 1275, 1997) the critical step concerning the preparation of conidia suspension is cumbersome and time ...
