Fungicidal activity of β‐thujaplicin analogues

Pest Management Science, 2001
AbstractThe fungicidal activity of analogues of β‐thujaplicin, a natural product responsible for the durability of heartwood of several cupressaceous trees, was investigated in vitro on the growth of different white and brown rot fungi involved in wood biodegradation, Coriolus versicolor, Phanerochaete chrysosporium, Poria placenta and Gloephyllum ...

FUNGICIDAL ACTIVITY OF DIPHENYLPYRALINE

Archives of Dermatology, 1953
The antihistaminic compound Diphenylpyraline (1-methyl-piperidyll-4 benzhydryl ether) has been reported to have marked in vitro antifungal activity against many of the common strains causing inflammatory changes in the human skin. Carson and Campbell 1 reported that this drug showed marked activity in vitro against Trichophyton rubrum, Microsporum ...

INVESTIGATIONS ON FUNGICIDES. I. FUNGICIDAL AND SYSTEMIC FUNGICIDAL ACTIVITY IN CERTAIN ARYLOXYALKANECARBOXYLIC ACIDS

Annals of Applied Biology, 1955
Fifty‐four aryloxyalkanecarboxylic acids have been examined as systemic fungicides. Of these, four which produced negligible damage in broad‐bean seedlings yet conferred systemic fungicidal protection to broad beans against Botrytis fabae and to tomatoes against Alternaria solanixvere studied in detail.

The biochemical activity of soil contaminated with fungicides

Journal of Environmental Science and Health, Part B, 2019
Excess fungicides can pose a serious threat to the soil environment. Fungicides can lower the microbiological and biochemical activity of soil and lead to yield declines. Soils contaminated with fungicides have to be remediated to maintain the optimal function of soil ecosystems.

A revised model of fungicide translaminar activity

Pesticide Biochemistry and Physiology, 2020
Translaminar redistribution is valuable for fungicide activity but difficult to measure and predict. The translaminar activity of 38 fungicides active against cucumber powdery mildew was measured experimentally and used to develop a QSAR (Quantitative structure-activity relationship) model of translaminar movement from calculated parameters.

Synthesis and Fungicidal Activity of Alicyclic Diamines

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 1996
As part of an ongoing program of work on polyamine analogues, a number of alicyclic diamines were synthesized and examined for fungicidal activity. The alicyclic diamine 1,2-bis(aminomethyl)-4,5-dimethylcyclohexa-1,4-diene (BAD), synthesized as the dihydrochloride salt, controlled the important crop pathogen Erysiphe graminis f.sp hordei.

Synthesis, Fungicidal Activity, and QSAR of Pyridazinonethiadiazoles

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2002
A series of novel 5-[1-aryl-1,4-dihydro-6-methylpyridazin-4-one-3-yl]-2-arylamino-1,3,4-thiadiazoles, related to the fungicidal activity, were synthesized and tested in vivo against wheat leaf rust, Puccinia recondita. The preliminary bioassay indicated that they exhibited fungicidal activity and the activity was influenced by the nature of the ...

Search for organic fungicides : Chemical constitution and fungicidal activity

Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, 1952
AbstractThe synthesis of a number of compounds likely to possess fungicidal activity has been described by the authors in the earlier papers of this series (Sen & Joshi, 1948, 1949, 1951a, b). This paper incorporates the results of an investigation of the fungicidal action of 55 of those compounds on the fungus Aspergillus niger employing the agar ...

Fungicidal activity of three putrescine analogues

Pesticide Science, 1994
AbstractThe synthetic putrescine analogues (E)‐N,N,N′,N′‐tetraethyl‐l,4‐diaminobut‐2‐ene(E‐TED), the (Z)‐isomer (Z‐TED) and (E)‐N,N‐dimethyl‐1,4‐diaminobut‐2‐ene(E‐DMD) were prepared as their salts, and controlled five important crop pathogens (Erysiphe graminis DC f.sp.

Assessment of the teratogenic activity of dithiocarbamate fungicides

Food and Cosmetics Toxicology, 1973
Abstract The dithiocarbamate fungicides, maneb and zineb, were given in a single oral dose to groups of pregnant rats on day 11 or 13 of organogenesis. Single doses of 1–4 g maneb/kg and 2–8 g zineb/kg induced congenital anomalies in 12–100% of the foetuses.
