The Multi-Fungicide Resistance Status of Aspergillus fumigatus Populations in Arable Soils and the Wider European Environment

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2020
The evolution and spread of pan-azole resistance alleles in clinical and environmental isolates of Aspergillus fumigatus is a global human health concern. The identification of hotspots for azole resistance development in the wider environment can inform

Identification of isolates of the plant pathogen Leptosphaeria maculans with resistance to the triazole fungicide fluquinconazole using a novel In Planta assay. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
Leptosphaeria maculans is the major pathogen of canola (oilseed rape, Brassica napus) worldwide. In Australia, the use of azole fungicides has contributed to the 50-fold increase in canola production in the last 25 years.

Fungicide Resistance Genetics of Apple Scab fungus Venturia inaequalis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Apple scab, caused by the ascomycete fungus Venturia inaequalis, is considered the most devastating disease on domestic apple crops. Apples are the most important cultivated crop in temperate regions and the United States produced about 4.6 million tons ...

Targeting TNBC: core–shell polycationic polyurea dendrimers with inherent anticancer activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Core–shell polycationic PURE dendrimers were tested in TNBC‐derived tumor models. Both formulations selectively targeted TNBC and effectively reduced tumor volume. PUREG4‐OEI48 suppressed tumor growth without detectable toxicity, whereas PUREG4‐OCEI24, despite showing efficacy, induced hepatic toxicity.

RNA‐Micelles as Self‐Assembling Structures for Efficient Co‐Delivery of Synergistic siRNA and Nucleoside Analogues to Treat CRC Lung Metastasis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Two kinds of self‐assembled RNA micelles were used to co‐deliver synergistic siRNA and nucleoside analogues for the treatment of colorectal cancer lung metastases. Near‐complete elimination of lung cancer metastases was confirmed in an orthotopic lung metastasis model constructed using human colorectal cancer lung metastases patient surgical samples to

Cardiac‐Derived ECM Microspheres for Enhanced hiPSC‐CMs Maturation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cardiac extracellular matrix microspheres derived from decellularized porcine heart provide a biomimetic 3D microenvironment for human induced pluripotent stem cell–derived cardiomyocytes (hiPSC‐CMs). This platform supports short‐ and long‐term culture, enhances structural organization, and promotes electrophysiological and functional maturation of ...
