Fungi Resistance to Multissite Fungicides

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Science, 2021
Multisite fungicides have been used for many years in fruit and vegetable crops worldwide. Cases of the fungi resistance development to these fungicides have been rare. From the 2002 season onwards, with the outbreak of Asian soybean rust in Brazil, caused by Phakopsora pachyrhizi, site-specific fungicides became the main weapon for its control.

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Nanopore sequencing and hybrid assembly: unraveling the genomic landscape of dollar spot with enhanced annotation and drug resistance profiling

open access: yesFrontiers in Fungal Biology
The increasing multi-drug resistance observed in the turfgrass pathogen Clarireedia spp. has emerged as a critical issue. Understanding the mechanisms underlying fungicide resistance is crucial to address this challenge. This study focuses on comparing a

Induced Expression of CYP51a and HK1 Genes Associated with Penconazole and Fludioxonil Resistance in the Potato Pathogen Fusarium oxysporum

open access: yesMicroorganisms, 2023
Preventing antifungal resistance development and identifying pathogens with high, medium, and low risk of resistance development to a particular fungicide or fungicide class is crucial in the fight against phytopathogens. We characterized the sensitivity

Detection of Fungicide Resistance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
It is important to note that most fungi show a broad range of sensitivities to the spectrum of different fungicides. For example, most fungicides for the control of Chromista (e.g., mefenoxam, fluopicolide, dimethomorph) do not control true fungi; some fungicides are specific for ascomycete (e.g., thiophanate-methyl) or basidiomycete fungi (flutolanil),

Evolution‐guided yeast complementation reveals functional differences in human PSPH variants

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Ancient genomes can help guide which human genetic variants are tested experimentally. This study applies that idea to PSPH, a gene involved in serine biosynthesis, and uses high‐throughput yeast complementation to compare variant function. The findings reveal measurable differences among selected alleles and illustrate the value of evolution‐guided ...

Avidin is evolutionarily conserved in fish but dispensable for development and resistance against Streptococcus agalactiae in zebrafish

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The presence of biotin‐binding avidin proteins in fish and their biological significance are poorly characterized. We cataloged fish avidins and demonstrate that they are widely present and evolutionarily conserved. We created avd knockout zebrafish and show that zebavidin is dispensable for development and that resistance of avd knockout embryos in ...

Multifunctional Thiolated Hyaluronic Acid‐graft‐PEDOT Dressing With Antifouling, On‐Demand Drug Delivery and Electrical Stimulation for Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A multifunctional P(EDOT‐co‐EDOT‐g‐THA) dressing acts as a dynamic biointerface integrating antifouling capability, on‐demand drug delivery, and electrical stimulation. It achieves electrochemically triggered thiolated hyaluronic acid (THA) release while modulating cellular responses for wound healing application.

Rise and Fall of Phytophthora infestans Resistance to Non-Specific Fungicide in Experimental Populations

open access: yesJournal of Fungi
Background: Fungicide resistance is one of the major factors threatening social and ecological sustainability. Many issues associated with the evolutionary processes and mechanisms of fungicide resistance in pathogens remain poorly understood, and better

Mitochondria‐Targeted Nanotherapies in Aging Neurodegenerative Disorders: Emerging Prospects and Clinical Potential

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Mitochondria‐targeted nanotherapies emerge as a promising strategy for combating aging‐associated neurodegenerative disorders (NDs) by restoring mitochondrial function, reducing oxidative stress, and improving neuronal survival. Recent advances in nanotechnology, therapeutic delivery, and translational research are highlighted, providing insights into ...
