Purification and characterization of mycoferritin from Fusarium verticillioides MRC 826

BioMetals, 2009
The fungus Fusarium verticillioides MRC 826 (ascomycetes species), a toxigenic isolate is capable of synthesizing mycoferritin only upon induction with iron in yeast extract sucrose medium. The molecular mass, yield, iron and carbohydrate contents of the purified mycoferritin were 460 kDa, 0.010 mg/g of wet mycelia, 1.0 and 40.2%, respectively.

Light regulation of fumonisin biosynthesis in Fusarium proliferatum and Fusarium verticillioides

2013
Light is an important environmental signal which influence many different physiological responses such as pigmentation, sexual development, asexual conidiation, the circadian clock and secondary metabolism. Our studies about light regulation on metabolic pathways in fungi proved that light of specific wavelength and intensity influences fungal growth ...

Fatty acid metabolism in Fusarium verticillioides

2019
Fatty acids (FA) are a metabolic energy source and are building blocks of membrane lipids; moreover, they play a role in the signaling among hosts and pathogens. The ascomycete Fusarium verticillioides is a pathogenic fungus of maize; it is a valuable organism for elucidating processes in eukaryotic cell such as fatty acid metabolism. Oxidized FA, i.e.

Toksinogenost plijesni Fusarium verticillioides

2004
Rezultati mikološke kontaminacije kukuruza s područja Zagreba (2002/03) ukazuje na visoku učestalost Fusarium vrsta (70%). Tvorba fumonizina B1 je dokazana u 67% sojeva F. verticillioides u rasponu koncentracija 105-400 mg/L, a jedan soj tvorio je i zearalenon u koncentraciji 70 mg/L.

Nitrogen effects on maize susceptibility to Fusarium ear rot (Fusarium verticillioides)

2018
Ear rot caused by Fusarium species is serious problem for maize growers. Fusarium car rot, European corn borer attack and length of car in maize were assessed after inoculation with Fusarium verticillioides in condition of fertilization with different sources of nitrogen.
