Monosegmental ALPPS after Bilateral Hepatectomy
Associated liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy (ALPPS) has emerged as an alternative for patients with bilobar colorectal liver metastasis and a small future liver remnant (FLR).

Future liver remnant portal or hepatic vein reconstruction at stage I of ALPPS-How far can we push the boundaries? [PDF]
Preservation of the future liver remnant (FLR) vascular integrity has always been considered crucial to achieving successful liver growths after major hepatectomies.

Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Aims and Objectives: To evaluate the outcome of preoperative portal vein embolization (PVE) using N-butyl cyanoacrylate (NBCA) for change in future liver remnant (FLR) volume, biochemical changes, and procedure-related complications.

Can plasma bile salt, triglycerides, and apoA-V levels predict liver regeneration? [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Preoperative portal vein embolization (PVE) is used to increase the future remnant liver (FRL) in patients requiring extensive liver resection.

We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

The ability to modulate the future liver remnant (FLR) is a key component of modern oncologic hepatobiliary surgery practice and has extended surgical candidacy for patients who may have been previously thought unable to survive liver resection. Multiple

Future remnant liver function estimated by combining liver volumetry on magnetic resonance imaging with total liver function on
: Introduction: Posthepatectomy liver failure (PHLF) is a major complication after hepatectomy with a high mortality rate and is likely to happen in insufficient liver remnant. We hypothesize that assessment of the estimated future liver remnant function

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

Nonsuperiority of technetium-99m-galactosyl human serum albumin scintigraphy over conventional volumetry for assessing the future liver remnant in patients undergoing hepatectomy after portal vein embolization [PDF]
[Background] Technetium-99m-galactosyl human serum albumin scintigraphy is preferred for assessing the liver functional reserve in patients undergoing hepatectomy, but its superiority over computed tomography volumetry after portal vein embolization and ...
