The well-known generalisation of hard c-means (HCM) clustering is fuzzy c-means (FCM) clustering where a weight exponent on each fuzzy membership is introduced as the degree of fuzziness. An alternative generalisation of HCM clustering is proposed in this paper.

Image thresholding using fuzzy entropies
IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, Part B (Cybernetics), 1998An image can be regarded as a fuzzy subset of a plane. A fuzzy entropy measuring the blur in an image is a functional which increases when the sharpness of its argument image decreases. We generalize and extend the relation "sharper than" between fuzzy sets in view of implementing the properties of a relation "sharper than" between images. We show that

In this paper we deal with the entropy of fuzzy sets. We first review several defined entropies of fuzzy sets and then propose a new one. Some comparisons are made with some existing entropies to show the effectiveness of the proposed one.

Fuzzy entropy on intuitionistic fuzzy sets
International Journal of Intelligent Systems, 2006In this article we exploit the concept of probability for defining the fuzzy entropy of intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFSs). We then propose two families of entropy measures for IFSs and also construct the axiom definition and properties. Two definitions of entropy for IFSs proposed by Burillo and Bustince in 1996 and Szmidt and Kacprzyk in 2001 are used.

Fuzzy Partition Entropies and Entropy Constrained Fuzzy Clustering Algorithms
Journal of Intelligent & Fuzzy Systems, 1997This article introduces three families of fuzzy partition entropies and investigates their relationship with Bezdek's partition entropy. Bezdek's partition entropy is interpreted as the limit of partition entropies of order a, partition entropies of order β, and R-norm partition entropies introduced in this study.
