ON THE ENTROPY OF FUZZY EVENTS
Kybernetes, 1983Entropy measures of fuzzy events of a set X with a (not necessary finite) positive measure µ defined on a σ‐algebra of subsets of X are studied. Using fuzzy measures and fuzzy integrals, a theorem is presented, which gives a sufficient condition for the existence of entropy measures under a list of reasonable axioms.

Fuzzy entropy and conditioning
Information Sciences, 1986A new nonprobabilistic entropy measure is introduced in the context of fuzzy sets or messages. Fuzzy units, or fits, replace bits in a new framework of fuzzy information theory. An appropriate measure of entropy or fuzziness of messages is shown to be a simple ratio of distances: the distances between the fuzzy message and its nearest and farthest ...

A definition for the entropy of fuzzy measures defined on set systems is proposed. The underlying set is not necessarily the whole power set, but satisfy a condition of regularity. This definition encompasses the classical definition of Shannon for probability measures, as well as the definition of Marichal et al.

On the entropy of fuzzy measures
IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, 2000Fuzzy measures provides a structure for modeling the knowledge available about variables whose values are unknown and uncertain. A large class of different types of uncertainty can be represented in this framework. In this work, we provide a measure of entropy that can be used to calculate the amount of uncertainty associated with a fuzzy measure.

Fuzzy Partition Entropies and Entropy Constrained Fuzzy Clustering Algorithms
Journal of Intelligent & Fuzzy Systems, 1997This article introduces three families of fuzzy partition entropies and investigates their relationship with Bezdek's partition entropy. Bezdek's partition entropy is interpreted as the limit of partition entropies of order a, partition entropies of order β, and R-norm partition entropies introduced in this study.

This paper presents a survey about different types of fuzzy information measures. A number of schemes have been proposed to combine the fuzzy set theory and its application to the entropy concept as a fuzzy information measurements. The entropy concept, as a relative degree of randomness, has been utilized to measure the fuzziness in a fuzzy set or ...
