Inverse of a fuzzy matrix of fuzzy numbers
International Journal of Computer Mathematics, 2009The aim of this paper is to extend the concept of inverse of a matrix with fuzzy numbers as its elements, which may be used to model uncertain and imprecise aspects of real-world problems. We pursue two main ideas based on employing real scenarios and arithmetic operators. In each case, exact and inexact strategies are provided.

The paper deals with matrices over the set of fuzzy numbers (fuzzy matrices). It introduces the notion of fuzzy rank of a fuzzy matrix as an integer fuzzy number. Another definition of the rank for fuzzy matrices was proposed by \textit{S. Kaguei} and \textit{A. Ohsato} [ibid. 38, No.3, 355- 364 (1990; Zbl 0726.15002)].

Fuzzy clustering with a fuzzy covariance matrix
1978 IEEE Conference on Decision and Control including the 17th Symposium on Adaptive Processes, 1978A class of fuzzy ISODATA clustering algorithms has been developed previously which includes fuzzy means. This class of algorithms is generalized to include fuzzy covariances. The resulting algorithm closely resembles maximum likelihood estimation of mixture densities. It is argued that use of fuzzy covariances is a natural approach to fuzzy clustering.
