Fuzzy congruences and compatible fuzzy partitions
Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 1989A natural concept of universal fuzzy algebra is introduced and it is proved that for a fuzzy congruence or a fuzzy partition to be compatible with a fuzzy universal algebra it is necessary and sufficient that level- wise compatibility is to be achieved.

Construction of Fuzzy Classes by Fuzzy Partitioning
2001In this paper, we propose a new algorithm to infer automatically a fuzzy partition for the universe of a set of fuzzy values, when each of these values is associated with a class. This algorithm can be used in a fuzzy decision tree system to extract knowledge from a database and to construct a set of fuzzy rules.

Fuzzy Partition Models for Fitting a Set of Partitions
Psychometrika, 2001Methodology is described for fitting a fuzzy consensus partition to a set of partitions of the same set of objects. Three models defining median partitions are described: two of them are obtained from a least-squares fit of a set of membership functions, and the third (proposed by Pittau and Vichi) is acquired from a least-squares fit of a set of joint

2001
In this chapter, we propose two new algorithms to infer automatically a fuzzy partition for the universe of a set of values, when each of these values is associated with a class. These algorithms are based on the use of mathematical morphology operators that are used to filter the given set of values and highlight kernel for fuzzy subsets.

Interval-valued fuzzy hypergraph and fuzzy partition
IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, Part B (Cybernetics), 1997This paper extends the work of H. Lee-Kwang and L.M. Lee (1995) to present the concept of the interval-valued fuzzy hypergraph. In the interval-valued fuzzy hypergraph, the concepts of the dual interval-valued fuzzy hypergraph, the crisp-valued alpha-cut hypergraph, and the interval-valued [alpha(1),alpha(2 )]-cut at beta level hypergraph are developed,

Applying I-Fuzzy Partitions to Represent Sets of Fuzzy Partitions
2010I-fuzzy partitions have been defined to represent uncertainty on the clustering process. They are based on interval type-2 fuzzy sets, also known as Atanassov's intuitionistic fuzzy sets.

Coarsening of fuzzy partitions
2015 IEEE 13th International Symposium on Intelligent Systems and Informatics (SISY), 2015A vague partition U of a finite universal set X into c clusters, where each cluster is described by a fuzzy set on X, is considered. The concept of p-level sets [3] of fuzzy sets is extended to p-level matrices of fuzzy partitions. A method of gradual coarsening of U based on a sequence of p-level matrices derived from the membership grades of clusters

Fuzzy partitions and transformations
Proceedings of 1994 IEEE 3rd International Fuzzy Systems Conference, 2002This paper is devoted to an interpretation of fuzzy sets on the basis of indistinguishability. Here we restrict to indistinguishability induced by tolerance bounds /spl epsiv/ that lead to identifying numbers whose difference is less than /spl epsiv/. We admit the modification of the ordinary distance by scaling functions.
