Fuzzy precompensated PID controllers

IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology, 1994
While proportional integral derivative (PID) controllers are widely used in industrial applications, they exhibit poor performance when applied to systems containing unknown nonlinearities, such as deadzones, saturation, and hysteresis. In this paper, the authors propose a fuzzy logic-based precompensation approach for PID controllers.

A Comparison of Fuzzy-PID Controller, Fuzzy Logic Controller and PID Controller of an Autonomous Robot

2021
Recently, autonomous mobile robots have been increasingly developed for many applications related with surveillance, transportation, and inspection. This paper introduces an autonomous robot motion control based on PID, Fuzzy, and Fuzzy-PID controllers. The experiment is implemented on a mobile robot to compare the performances among three controllers.

An optimal fuzzy PID controller

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2001
This paper introduces an optimal fuzzy proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller. The fuzzy PID controller is a discrete-time version of the conventional PID controller, which preserves the same linear structure of the proportional, integral, and derivative parts but has constant coefficient yet self-tuned control gains. Fuzzy logic is employed

Fuzzy-PID controller

Proceedings of TENCON '93. IEEE Region 10 International Conference on Computers, Communications and Automation, 2002
The paper introduces in detail the derivation of a control algorithm. In this algorithm, a fuzzy controller is applied to the PID control method and a self-optimal regulating factor is added to the control rule, thus the controller not only has quick dynamic response and allows overswing properties of the fuzzy controller, but also has the high ...

Fuzzy PID Controller with Fuzzy Supervision

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2000
Abstract The best-known industrial process controllers are proportional-integral-derivative (РID) controllers because of their simple structure and robust performance in a wide range of operating conditions. Fuzzy controllers can be viewed as a natural similarity of conventional РID controllers, which can perform the same tasks into the control ...

A new fuzzy PID-like controller

SMC 2000 Conference Proceedings. 2000 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics. 'Cybernetics Evolving to Systems, Humans, Organizations, and their Complex Interactions' (Cat. No.00CH37166), 2002
A new fuzzy PID-like controller is developed. This controller is basically composed of two independent fuzzy controllers. The proportional and derivative characteristics of the PID controller are mainly performed by the first fuzzy controller, and the second fuzzy controller then displays the integrative characteristic of the PID controller.

Fuzzy + PID Controller for Robot Manipulator

2006 International Conference on Computational Inteligence for Modelling Control and Automation and International Conference on Intelligent Agents Web Technologies and International Commerce (CIMCA'06), 2006
Design and stability analysis for a hybrid fuzzy logic controller is presented in the present work for a robot manipulator. The PD-type fuzzy controller is combined with a conventional PID controller to enhance the performance and robustness of the controller. A simple stability analysis is presented for the hybrid controller.

A combined fuzzy and classical PID controller

Microprocessing and Microprogramming, 1991
Abstract This paper presents a new kind of process controller which combines the functional elements of a fuzzy logic controller and that of a classical PID controller. The control algorithm of such a controller is formulated by means of the fuzzy set theory and the classical control theory. The properties of this controller are investigated in terms

Adaptive fuzzy tuning of PID controllers

Neural Computing and Applications, 2012
In this paper, the performances of fuzzy proportional-integral-derivative (PID) and classic PID controllers are compared through simulation studies. For this purpose, the level control of a two interacting tanks system, temperature control of unstable continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR), and pH control of pH neutralization process were selected.
