Stability of fuzzy PID controllers

IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics - Part A: Systems and Humans, 1998
In this paper, the stability of fuzzy PID controllers is studied. Using the passivity theorem, the stability region of the effective PID parameters can be derived and hence some sufficient conditions for a stable fuzzy controller can be obtained. With these conditions satisfied, a stable set of fuzzy rules can be designed easily.

Incremental fuzzy expert PID control

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 1990
An approach to intelligent PID (proportional integral derivative) control of industrial systems which is based on the application of fuzzy logic is presented. This approach assumes that one has available nominal controller parameter settings through some classical tuning technique (Ziegler-Nichols, Kalman, etc.).

Statistical fuzzy PID controller design

Proceedings of 6th International Fuzzy Systems Conference, 2002
Neural-fuzzy control techniques have been employed in semiconductor equipment and manufacturing control applications. Many successful case studies have been reported to deal with nonlinear, time-varying systems. However, the problem of excessive control actions due to random disturbances or controller over-reactions to random noise has caused ...

Comparative Study on Fuzzy PID Controller and Conventional PID Controller

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
PID controller is simple, stable and reliable. But the controller parameters cannot adjust themselves when the object varies. To solve the problem, this paper combined fuzzy control and PID controller, realized self-adjustment of PID parameters using fuzzy reasoning method, analysed the advantages over the traditional PID controller. The simulation was

Fuzzy precompensation of PID controllers

Proceedings of IEEE International Conference on Control and Applications, 2002
While PID controllers are widely used in industrial applications, they exhibit poor performance when applied to systems containing unknown nonlinearities, such as deadzones, saturation, and hysteresis. In this paper, we propose a fuzzy logic-based precompensation approach for PID controllers. We demonstrate the performance of our scheme via experiments

Laboratory ABS Control: Fuzzy or PID Controller?

2020 Cybernetics & Informatics (K&I), 2020
This paper studies controller design for laboratory ABS model of a quarter car. Standard PID controller is compared with developed fuzzy controllers with different input variables. The obtained results are verified and compared by experiments on a real laboratory plant.

Self-tuning fuzzy PID controller

2013 International Conference on Process Control (PC), 2013
In this paper method of design of self-tuning fuzzy PID controller is addressed, proposed and tested. Fuzzy logic is used to tune each parameter of PID controller. The proposed controller is tested in control of the concentration in the chemical reactor, manipulating its flow rate.

A Comparison of Fuzzy-PID Controller, Fuzzy Logic Controller and PID Controller of an Autonomous Robot

2021
Recently, autonomous mobile robots have been increasingly developed for many applications related with surveillance, transportation, and inspection. This paper introduces an autonomous robot motion control based on PID, Fuzzy, and Fuzzy-PID controllers. The experiment is implemented on a mobile robot to compare the performances among three controllers.

An optimal fuzzy PID controller

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2001
This paper introduces an optimal fuzzy proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller. The fuzzy PID controller is a discrete-time version of the conventional PID controller, which preserves the same linear structure of the proportional, integral, and derivative parts but has constant coefficient yet self-tuned control gains. Fuzzy logic is employed

Fuzzy anti-reset windup for PID controllers

Control Engineering Practice, 1993
Abstract In this paper anti windup schemes for PID controllers are proposed that consider not only actuator constraints but also process state constraints. The schemes are fuzzy generalizations and combinations of the traditional conditional integration anti windup schemes.
