A novel method for tracking structural changes in gels using widely accessible microcomputed tomography is presented and validated for various hydro‐, alco‐, and aerogels. The core idea of the method is to track positions of micrometer‐sized tracer particles entrapped in the gel and relate them to the density of the gel network.

Evolution and Evaluation of the Penalty Method for Alternative Graphs
Computing meaningful alternative routes in a road network is a complex problem ‐ already giving a clear definition of a best alternative seems to be impossible.

Improved kernels for Signed Max Cut parameterized above lower bound on (r,l)-graphs [PDF]
A graph $G$ is signed if each edge is assigned $+$ or $-$. A signed graph is balanced if there is a bipartition of its vertex set such that an edge has sign $-$ if and only if its endpoints are in different parts.

A Linear Kernel for Planar Total Dominating Set [PDF]
A total dominating set of a graph $G=(V,E)$ is a subset $D \subseteq V$ such that every vertex in $V$ is adjacent to some vertex in $D$. Finding a total dominating set of minimum size is NP-hard on planar graphs and W[2]-complete on general graphs when ...

Pomological and technological characteristics of collected selections of cherry plum Prunus cerasifera Erhr. [PDF]
A plantation collection containing 32 genotypes selected from spontaneous populations of cherry plum Prunus cerasifera Erhr. was set up in the region of the Eastern Serbian town of Svrljig. The fruit trees budded from Prunus cerasifera seedlings and were

Exact values for three domination-like problems in circular and infinite grid graphs of small height [PDF]
In this paper we study three domination-like problems, namely identifying codes, locating-dominating codes, and locating-total-dominating codes. We are interested in finding the minimum cardinality of such codes in circular and infinite grid graphs of ...

The Mass Mixing Length in Convective Stellar Envelopes
The scale length over which convection mixes mass in a star can be calculated as the inverse of the vertical derivative of the unidirectional (up or down) mass flux.

Vector boson tagged jets and jet substructure [PDF]
In these proceedings, we report on recent results related to vector boson-tagged jet production in heavy ion collisions and the related modification of jet substructure, such as jet shapes and jet momentum sharing distributions. $Z^0$-tagging and $\gamma$
