Hb Toranomon [β112(G14)Cys → Trp]: A New Unstable Electrophoretically Silent Hemoglobin
Hemoglobin, 1996We describe a silent and unstable hemoglobin variant, Hb Toranomon, which was discovered by high performance liquid chromatography in an apparently healthy Japanese male during a Hb A1c assay. Isoelectrofocusing of his hemolysate and chromatographic separation of globin on a CM-cellulose column revealed no abnormality.

A Case of Hemoglobin Indianapolis [β112(G14) Cys→Arg] in an Individual from Cordoba, Spain
Hemoglobin, 1986Hemoglobin Indianapolis was first described by Adams et al (1,2) as a very unstable variant with a phenotype similar to severe beta-thalassemia. We have also characterized this variant, but there are several differences in the clinical expression of the variant described in our report and those described in the original case.

Background Previous functional neuroimaging studies have shown brain activation abnormalities in clinically presymptomatic carriers of the Huntington9s disease (preHD) gene mutation when performing complex cognitive tasks. However, little is known about the neural correlates of basic attentional processes in preHD.

Quality Improvement: Delivering Better Patient Outcomes and Experience, 2017
Aims In-situ simulation training indicated the need for accurate setup of peak inspiratory pressure (PIP) and positive end expiratory pressure (PEEP) prior to newborn resuscitation. Our project aimed to improve the quality of team learning from latent inaccuracies in PIP and PEEP settings, to reduce harm and improve outcomes for newborn infants ...
