Understanding interaction traps [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We propose the idea of an interaction trap as a consequence of dissonance (or “misunderstanding”) between users and systems. These result in inefficient or failed interactions that, from an objective viewpoint, could have been efficient and ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Upstream-radiated rotor–stator interaction noise in mean swirling flow [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
A major component of the noise in modern aeroengines is rotor–stator interaction noise generated when the wake from the rotating fan impinges on a stator row downstream.

Stability analysis on elite genotypes of Indian Mustard (Brassica Juncea L.) in Terai Agro-Climatic Region

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding
Among the oilseed crops, mustard has gained precedence in the human diet due to its superior oil quality. Genotype × environment interactions have a significant effect on plant breeding because it reduces the stability of the genotypes in diverse ...

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Interaction process behind the strong stabilization of G-quadruplexes by alkaloid fagaronine [PDF]

open access: yes
Benzo[c]phenanthridine alkaloids are known for their stabilizing effects on non-canonical DNA structures, particularly G-quadruplexes (G4s). In this study, the interaction of fagaronine, a rare benzo[c]phenanthridine alkaloid, with several DNA structures

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Interaction and effectiveness of corporate e-learning programmes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This study was conducted in a large Mexican organization running a virtual corporate university. It aimed to evaluate students’ perceptions of three types of interaction (learner–teacher, learner–content and learner–learner) and their views on the ...

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Assessment of Genotype-Environment Interaction Using Additive Main Effects and Multiplicative Interaction Model (AMMI) in Maize (Zea mays L.) Hybrids

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2017
The present study was performed to analyze the Genotype-Environment (G x E) interaction for 21 maize hybrids over 3 locations to identify suitable and stable hybrids. Grain yield data were subjected to the AMMI analysis. Analysis revealed significant G
