l-DOPA reverses the MPTP-induced elevation of the arrestin2 and GRK6 expression and enhanced ERK activation in monkey brain

open access: yesNeurobiology of Disease, 2005
Dysregulation of dopamine receptors (DARs) is believed to contribute to Parkinson disease (PD) pathology. G protein-coupled receptors (GPCR) undergo desensitization via activation-dependent phosphorylation by G protein-coupled receptor kinases (GRKs ...

Maintenance of Rhodopsin levels in Drosophila photoreceptor and phototransduction requires Protein Kinase D

open access: yesFly, 2018
During Drosophila phototransduction, the G protein coupled receptor (GPCR) Rhodopsin (Rh1) transduces photon absorption into electrical signal via G-protein coupled activation of phospholipase C (PLC).

Development of Inflammatory Immune Response-Related Drugs Based on G Protein-Coupled Receptor Kinase 2

open access: yesCellular Physiology and Biochemistry, 2018
G protein-coupled receptor kinase 2 (GRK2), as a vital Ser/Thr kinase, is an important regulatory protein in the inflammatory immune response (IIR) by maintaining the balance between the function of inflammatory immune cells and non-conventional ...

Cyclic AMP signalling in pancreatic islets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Cyclic 3'5'AMP (cAMP) is an important physiological amplifier of glucose-induced insulin secretion by the pancreatic islet β-cell, where it is formed by the activity of adenylyl cyclases, which are stimulated by glucose, through elevation in ...

Cytomegalovirus infection is common in prostate cancer and antiviral therapies inhibit progression in disease models

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Human cytomegalovirus infection is common in normal prostate epithelium, prostate tumor tissue, and prostate cancer cell lines. CMV promotes cell survival, proliferation, and androgen receptor signaling. Anti‐CMV pharmaceutical compounds in clinical use inhibited cell expansion in prostate cancer models in vitro and in vivo, motivating investigation ...

Integrative miRNOMe profiling reveals the miR‐195‐5p–CHEK1 axis and its impact on luminal breast cancer outcomes

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In luminal (ER+) breast carcinoma (BC), miRNA profiling identified miR‐195‐5p as a key regulator of proliferation that targets CHEK1, CDC25A, and CCNE1. High CHEK1 expression correlates with worse relapse‐free survival after chemotherapy, especially in patients with luminal A subtype.
