Gadolinium-DTPA in the evaluation of intradural extramedullary spinal disease

American Journal of Roentgenology, 1988
Gadolinium-DTPA was used in MR imaging of the spine to determine the ability of a contrast agent to increase the detection and characterization of disease in the intradural extramedullary space. Although MR imaging, especially with recent technological improvements, has been shown to be at least competitive with, and often superior to, myelography and ...

Echoplanar diffusion-weighted MRI with intravenous gadolinium-DTPA

Neuroradiology, 2003
It is occasionally necessary to repeat diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) after giving intravenous contrast medium (CM). However, the effects of CM on DWI and apparent diffusion coefficients (ADC) have not been fully examined. The aim of this prospective study was to investigate whether there are any diagnostically significant differences between echo ...

Gadolinium-DTPA enhanced MR imaging of intramuscular abscesses

Magnetic Resonance Imaging, 1987
Sterile, chemical and bacterial abscesses were induced in the paraspinal muscles of 16 rats before obtaining magnetic resonance (MR) images using a 0.35-T resistive system. Abscess intensity, T1 and T2 values were recorded before and after the intravenous administration of Gd-DTPA (0.2 mmol/kg).

The effect of intravenous gadolinium-DTPA on diffusion-weighted imaging

Neuroradiology, 2006
Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) is usually performed before injection of intravenous paramagnetic contrast medium. Occasionally, it may be necessary to perform or to repeat DWI after such administration. Our purpose was to evaluate the effect of intravenous gadodiamide (Gd [DTPA-BMA]) on DWI.DWI was performed on 88 brain lesions immediately before ...

MRI of spondylodiscities: contribution of gadolinium-DTPA and fat suppression sequence

European Radiology, 1993
Twenty-six patients with a clinical diagnosis of spondylodiscitis were examined with non-contrast and contrast-enhanced MRI in order to define the contribution of gadolinium-DTPA (Gd-DTPA) and different pulse sequences, including a fat suppression sequence (SPIR).

Comparison of the biodistribution of manganese-54 DTPA and gadolinium-153 DTPA in dogs.

Journal of nuclear medicine : official publication, Society of Nuclear Medicine, 1987
The biodistribution of [54Mn]DTPA and [153Gd]DTPA dimeglumine were investigated and compared following i.v. administration to fasting anesthetized dogs. Unlike most previously reported metal ion-DTPA complexes, [54Mn]DTPA showed high uptakes in several organs including the liver, bile, pancreas, bowel, and kidney.

Comparison of the biodistribution of gadolinium-153 DTPA and technetium-99m DTPA in rats.

Journal of nuclear medicine : official publication, Society of Nuclear Medicine, 1988
Twenty-three mature Sprague-Dawley male and female rats were simultaneously injected with trace quantities of [153Gd]DTPA and [99mTc]DTPA and 0.5 mmol/kg of nonradioactive gadolinium DTPA. Rats were killed at 1 min, 5 min, 10 min, 15 min, and 30 min after the intracardiac bolus injection.

MR demonstration of meningeal enhancement with gadolinium-DTPA

1991
Meningeal enhancement has been studied with gadolinium (Gd)-DTPA enhanced MRI in 12 normal and 24 abnormal cases. Pial enhancement was observed in meningeal carcinomatosis, while postoperative patients and sinus thrombosis never showed pial enhancement. Postoperative patients showed gradually decreasing dural enhancement over several months.

Kontrastmittelunterstützte Magnetresonanztomographie: Dosisoptimierung von Gadolinium-DTPA

1992
