Serological Relationships in the Genus Gadus [PDF]
LITTLE information is available concerning the serological relationships of fishes, and virtually nothing is known concerning the serology of the economically important genus Gadus.

Abstract High‐latitude ecosystems are simultaneously warming and acidifying under ongoing climate change. Arctic cod (Boreogadus saida) are a key species in the Arctic Ocean and have demonstrated sensitivity to ocean warming and acidification as adults and embryos, but their larval sensitivity to the combined stressors is unknown. In a laboratory multi‐

Impact of prey field variability on early cod larval survival: a sensitivity study of a Baltic cod Individual-based Model [PDF]
Existing coupled biophysical models for Baltic larval cod drift, growth and survival use idealised constructed mean prey fields of nauplius distributions. These simulations revealed the best feeding conditions for Baltic cod larvae longer than 6 mm.

Genes, fish and fisheries: translating science into policy
Abstract The 2024 Annual Symposium of the Fisheries Society of the British Isles reviewed the burgeoning impact of ‘omics’ technologies on fish ecology, management and forecasting. As with life sciences more generally, major advances in speed, cost‐effectiveness and breadth of applications in ‘omics’ has had profound societal and environmental impacts.

The Caddo Ceramic Assemblage from the Hardin A Site (41GG69) on the Sabine River in Gregg County, Texas [PDF]
The Hardin A site (41GG69) is an ancestral Caddo settlement on a high alluvial terrace landform overlooking the Sabine River floodplain in Gregg County, Texas, a few miles west of Longview, Texas. The modern channel of the river is ca. 650 m to the south.

Metabolic and Stress Responses in Senegalese Soles (Solea senegalensis Kaup) Fed Tryptophan Supplements: E ects of Concentration and Feeding Period [PDF]
The objective of this study was to assess the impact of di erent dietary Trp concentrations on the stress and metabolism response of juvenile Senegalese soles (Solea senegalensis). Fish (38.1 1.9 g) were fed di erent Trp-enriched feeds (0%, 1% and 2%

Northern cod (Gadus morhua) movement: insights from acoustic telemetry and genomics
Abstract Knowledge of the timing and diversity of fish movements within a commercially exploited stock complex is required to ensure the sustainability of fisheries. Although migration can be driven by environmental factors, genomic mechanisms also play an important role in this complex life‐history trait. The northern cod (Gadus morhua) stock complex,

Abstract Employing a citizen science model of partnerships with recreational and commercial fishers, we collected 5298 fin‐clip samples of striped bass Morone saxatilis over a 2‐year period and a broad geographic area that encompassed a majority of the species migratory range.

Viscoelastic and Functional Properties of Cod-Bone Gelatin in the Presence of Xylitol and Stevioside
The physical, rheological, structural and functional properties of cod bone gelatin (CBG) with various concentrations (0, 2, 4, 6, 10, and 15%) of low-calorie sweeteners [xylitol (X) and stevioside (S)] to form gels were investigated. The gel strength of

Food intake of early juvenile western Baltic cod (Gadus morhua) during settlement transition
Abstract This study examines the gut contents of 203 early juvenile Atlantic cod [17–101 mm ± 18.48 mm standard deviation (SD)] from the Western Baltic Sea (ICES Subdivision 22) collected between 2020 and 2022. According to the observed prey (proportion of pelagic, intermediate and benthic items) in the cod guts, settlement transition from a pelagic to
