Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Contrast sensitivities in the Gaia Data Release 2

open access: yes, 2018
The source detection sensitivity of Gaia is reduced near sources. To characterise this contrast sensitivity is important for understanding the completeness of the Gaia data products, in particular when evaluating source confusion in less well resolved ...

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Diagnosis approach to hypersensitivity reactions in Helicobacter pylori eradication [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Portuguesa de Imunoalergologia
Background: Helicobacter pylori (HP) infection is treated with a combination of antibiotics and antisecretory agents. Hypersensitivity reactions (HSR) limit therapeutic options.

RAVE as a Gaia precursor: what to expect from the Gaia RVS?

open access: yes, 2015
The Radial Velocity Experiment (RAVE) is a large wide-field spectroscopic stellar survey of the Milky Way. Over the period 2003-2013, 574,630 spectra for 483,330 stars have been amassed at a resolution of R=7500 in the Ca-triplet region of 8410-8795\AA ...

SmallTalk: a novel small‐sized fusion tag for peptide expression and purification

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The SmallTalk fusion tag allows for the efficient expression and purification of soluble recombinant proteins or peptides in Escherichia coli. Testing with SmallTalk‐GFP confirmed that the proteins were soluble and folded correctly, while SmallTalk‐Bin1b maintained its antimicrobial activity against various bacterial isolates. This streamlined workflow

Chemical and sensory profile of lager beers hopped with new Czech bitter varieties Boomerang and Gaia

open access: yesKvasný průmysl
Characterising the sensory profiles of beers made from new hop varieties is of considerable importance for their application in brewing. New Czech bitter varieties Boomerang and Gaia were tested in three-year pilot brews (200 l) of 12% single-hopped pale

KINEMATICS OF THE MILKY WAY FROM VELOCITIES OF YOUNG RED CLUMP GIANTS USING THE PMA AND GAIA DR2 DATA

open access: yesOdessa Astronomical Publications, 2018
Subsample of 19,600 young red clumpgiants with distances up to 1200 pc was selected from 7.2 mln Gaia DR2 data with radial velocities using the MG vs. G − KS diagram. Ages of these stars do not exceed 2 bln years.

What can Gaia proper motions tell us about Milky Way dwarf galaxies?

open access: yes, 2014
We present a proper-motion study on models of the dwarf spheroidal galaxy Sculptor, based on the predicted proper-motion accuracy of Gaia measurements. Gaia will measure proper motions of several hundreds of stars for a Sculptor-like system. Even with an
