Walking pattern analysis using GAIT cycles and silhouettes for clinical applications
In recent years biometrics play a vital role in recognizing the person and authentication. Recent studies prove that the gait cycle is unique for every individual. Gait refers to the walking pattern of an individual. Gait cycle is calculated by the right

Gait pattern in lean and obese adolescents
Obesity is the most common chronic disorder in children and adolescents. As walking is the most common daily task and is recommended for weight management, quantifying how obesity affects the biomechanics of gait provides important insight into the relationship between metabolic and mechanical energetics, mechanical loading and associated risk for ...

ABSTRACT Background Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is the most common pediatric cancer, with an overall survival now surpassing 90% in developed countries. However, treatments are not without adverse effects. In this study, we apply the severe toxicity‐free survival (STFS) framework to determine the prevalence of 21 physician‐defined severe ...

ABSTRACT Background Patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis commonly experience reduced physical function, fatigue, poor sleep quality, and impaired health‐related quality of life. Intradialytic exercise has been proposed as a non‐pharmacological strategy to improve these outcomes.

Clinical factors associated with a conservative gait pattern in older male veterans with diabetes
Background Patients with diabetes and peripheral neuropathy are at higher risk for falls. People with diabetes sometimes adopt a more conservative gait pattern with decreased walking speed, widened base, and increased double support time.

ABSTRACT Background Maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients frequently suffer from frailty, characterized by reduced physical function and poor prognosis. Myokines, such as myonectin, secreted by muscle, are emerging regulators of systemic health. This study investigated the relationship between serum myonectin, adipokines (adiponectin, omentin), and ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
