The stellar content of the Sagittarius Dwarf Galaxy [PDF]

open access: green, 1997
We present V,I deep CCD photometry for three fields of the dwarf galaxy in Sagittarius (Sgr). One of the fields is centered on the globular cluster NGC 6715 (M54), which lies in one of the dense clumps of the Sgr galaxy. Comparing the CMD of Sgr with those of globular clusters which are believed to be kinematically associated with the dwarf galaxy, we ...

The Stellar Content of Active Galaxies [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 1998
We present results of a long-slit spectroscopic study of 39 active and 3 normal galaxies. Stellar absorption features, continuum colors and their radial variations are analyzed in an effort to characterize the stellar population in these galaxies and detect the presence of a featureless continuum underlying the starlight spectral component.

Structure and stellar content of dwarf galaxies [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics, 2001
CCD photometry in the Cousins B , V and R bands of 19 northern field dwarf galaxies is presented. For each galaxy, and for each colour, we determined total magnitude, effective radius and effective surface brightness, and, by fitting an exponential to the surface brightness profile, central surface brightness and exponential scale length.

Retracted: Can the chemical industry solve the climate change? On the role of human energy production, renewable energies, and the potential of chemistry as a solution provider

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView., 2023
Let us consider an alternative perspective on climate change: The sum of solar radiation and heat generated by human activity result in a net energy input of 1.96 times that of the Sun on the Earth's surface. The expanding global population is expected to exacerbate this issue. Potential solutions are proposed, including replacement and heat recycling.

Targeted decrease of portal hepatic pressure gradient improves ascites control after TIPS

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
The river diagram demonstrates that after transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt insertion (TIPS) the majority of patients without ascites and 50% of the patients with ascites detectable at ultrasound, show the best response in the long term follow‐up.
