Kinematics and dynamics of the haloes of supergiant galaxies [PDF]

open access: bronzeMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 1985
On presente des mesures de la cinematique interne des halos de 3 galaxies supergeantes dans des amas moderement riches. On trouve que les profils de la dispersion des vitesses sont plats ou croissent avec le rayon.

The kinematics and dynamics of the rich cluster of galaxies Abell 539

open access: closedThe Astronomical Journal, 1988
A sample of 289 redshifts within 10 deg of the center of the cluster A539 have been obtained in order to investigate the cluster kinematics and dynamics. Within 1 Mpc of the center, the physical parameters of A539 are found to be typical of those of rich clusters.

The Dynamics of the Dwarf Elliptical Galaxy FS 76: Bridging the Kinematic Dichotomy between Elliptical and Dwarf Elliptical Galaxies [PDF]

open access: bronzeThe Astrophysical Journal, 2001
We present major- and minor-axis kinematics out to ˜2 half-light radii for the bright (MB = -16.7) dwarf elliptical galaxy (dE) FS 76, a member of the NGC 5044 group. Its velocity dispersion is 46 ‘ 2 km s-1 in the center and rises to 70 ‘ 10 km s-1 at half-light radius. Beyond 1Re, the dispersion starts to fall again.

Photometry, Kinematics and Dynamics of the Barred Galaxy NGC 5383 [PDF]

open access: bronzeSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1983
NGC 5383 has often been used as a prototype of SB(s)b type galaxies, particulary in studies of gas flow. We have therefore set out to complement the existing data with surface photometry, velocity measurements in the bar and a dynamical model.

Dark Matter in Fractional Gravity III: Dwarf Galaxies Kinematics [PDF]

open access: yesUniverse, 2023
Recently, we put forward a framework where the dark matter (DM) component within virialized halos is subject to a non-local interaction originated by fractional gravity (FG) effects.

The ALMA-ALPAKA survey. I. High-resolution CO and [CI] kinematics of star-forming galaxies at z= 0.5 - 3.5 [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics, 2023
Spatially-resolved studies of the kinematics of galaxies provide crucial insights into their assembly and evolution, enabling to infer the properties of the dark matter halos, derive the impact of feedback on the ISM, characterize the outflow motions. To

Simulating supermassive black hole mass measurements for a sample of ultramassive galaxies using ELT/HARMONI high-spatial-resolution integral-field stellar kinematics [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2023
As the earliest relics of star formation episodes of the Universe, the most massive galaxies are the key to our understanding of the stellar population, cosmic structure, and supermassive black hole (SMBH) evolution.
