CCD Photometry of HII Galaxies

1992
We report the first results of a multicolour (broad V,R,I and narrow [OIII] bands) surface photometry study of a small sample of HII galaxies.

Galaxy photometry and cosmology

1985
A brief review is presented of the current understanding of galaxy photometry as related to cosmology. Attention is paid to the conclusions about spectral evolution of galaxies that can be derived from the deepest faint galaxy samples currently available. Some typical results are discussed.

Galaxy Photometry in the Virgo Cluster. I.

Astronomische Nachrichten, 1982
AbstractIn a field of about 0.6 square degrees near the centre of the Virgo cluster of galaxies a photometry in B, V, and R has been performed by means of the microphotometer of the Zentralinstitut für Astrophysik. For 84 galaxies identified in this field magnitudes, diameters, and axis ratios has been determined.

UBV photometry of 262 southern galaxies

Astrophysics and Space Science, 1979
Multi-aperture photometry of 262 bright southern galaxies in the JohnsonUBV system is given. Most of these are south of δ=−30°, although some northward to δ=−10° are included. A total of 169 objects have published radial velocity determinations. These provide distances, and enable construction of colour-magnitude diagrams for this subset of bbjects ...

Photometry of Disks in Galaxies

1989
In this review, four aspects of the light distribution in galactic disks are addressed: (1) Following the pioneering work by de Vaucouleurs in the 1950’s, we know that the majority of disks have a radial surface brightness distribution that follows an exponential law.

Photometry of galaxies in compact groups

Astrophysics, 1988
The results are given of photographic photometry of galaxies in compact groups. The luminosity function of the galaxies in the investigated groups is similar to the luminosity function of field galaxies, open groups, and clusters. Of 54 groups, signs of merging of galaxies are observed in only one group.
