Dependence of the clustering properties of galaxies on galaxy age

Chinese Journal of Physics, 2016
Abstract From the Main galaxy data of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 10 (SDSS DR10), we construct two volume-limited samples with the luminosity −20.5 ≤ M r  ≤−18.5 and −22.5 ≤ M r  ≤−20.5, respectively, and explore the dependence of the clustering properties of galaxies on galaxy age by cluster analysis.

Clustering properties of galaxies with different galaxy morphologies

Astroparticle Physics, 2008
Abstract From the volume-limited main galaxy sample of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 6 (SDSS DR6), we construct an early-type sample and a late-type sample, and perform comparative studies of clustering properties between them. It is found that the distribution of late-type galaxies is more filamentary.

The Dependence of Satellite Galaxy Kinematics on Galaxy Properties

Chinese Astronomy and Astrophysics, 2018
Abstract The relations between the kinematics of satellites and the properties of hosts and satellites themselves are investigated in this paper. Our sample of hosts and satellites is selected from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) data by adopting a self-adapted method developed by van den Bosch et al.

Properties of the first galaxies

2018
With the Hubble Space Telescope and its near-infrared capabilities, it is now possible to probe deep into the epoch of reionization, improving our understanding of galaxy evolution through cosmic history. Whether it is via colour-selection or fitting the spectral energy distribution, it has now become routine to amass large samples of galaxies as ...
