Noble gases and nitrogen in material from asteroid Bennu

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract We report the elemental and isotopic abundances of all stable noble gases (helium, neon, argon, krypton, and xenon) in eight particles from asteroid Bennu returned by NASA's OSIRIS‐REx mission. We also report nitrogen abundances and isotopic ratios that were analyzed alongside neon and argon in four additional Bennu particles.

A Census of Star Formation Histories of Massive Galaxies at 0.6 < z < 1 from Spectrophotometric Modeling Using Bagpipes and Prospector

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present individual star formation histories (SFHs) of ∼3000 massive galaxies (log( M _* / M _⊙ ) > 10.5) from the Large Early Galaxy Astrophysics Census spectroscopic survey at a lookback time of ∼7 billion yr and quantify the population trends ...

Spectroscopy of BL Lac objects of extraordinary luminosity

open access: yes, 2014
Aims. We aim to determine the redshift (or stringent lower limits) of a number of bright BL Lacs objects. Methods. We secured medium resolution optical and near-infrared spectra of 4 bright BL Lac objects of unknown redshift using the spectrograph X ...

Spaceborne and spaceborn: Physiological aspects of pregnancy and birth during interplanetary flight

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Crewed interplanetary return missions that are on the planning horizon will take years, more than enough time for initiation and completion of a pregnancy. Pregnancy is viewed as a sequence of processes – fertilization, blastocyst formation, implantation, gastrulation, placentation, organogenesis, gross morphogenesis, birth and neonatal ...

Search for Slow Bars in Two Barred Galaxies with Nuclear Structures: NGC 6951 and NGC 7716

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We investigate two barred galaxies with nuclear structures, NGC 6951 and NGC 7716, to examine whether they host slow bars. Using Gemini/GMOS long-slit spectroscopy, we calculate the bar pattern speed with the Tremaine–Weinberg method and detect ...

Properties of Ly-alpha emitters around the radio galaxy MRC 0316-257

open access: yes, 2005
Observations of the radio galaxy MRC 0316-257 at z=3.13 and the surrounding field are presented. Using narrow- and broad-band imaging obtained with the VLT, 77 candidate Ly-alpha emitters with a rest-frame equivalent width of > 15 A were selected in a ~7'

Evaluation of Zinc Borate and Melamine Polyphosphate Synergy on the Rheological, Thermal, Mechanical, Dimensional, and Flame Retardant Performance of rLLDPE/CaCO3 Composites for Pipes Applications

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 143, Issue 8, February 20, 2026.
A synergistic flame retardant containing melamine polyphosphate and zinc borate was prepared and applied to provide rLLDPE/CaCO3 composites with superior flame retardancy. ABSTRACT The use of recycled thermoplastics is crucial for addressing environmental challenges such as waste management and sustainability.

Ionized Gas Kinematics with FRESCO: An Extended, Massive, Rapidly Rotating Galaxy at z = 5.4

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
With the remarkable sensitivity and resolution of JWST in the infrared, measuring rest-optical kinematics of galaxies at z > 5 has become possible for the first time.

A Direct Detection of Gas Accretion: The Lyman Limit System in 3C 232

open access: yes, 2010
The gas added and removed from galaxies over cosmic time greatly affects their stellar populations and star formation rates. QSO absorption studies in close QSO/galaxy pairs create a unique opportunity to study the physical conditions and kinematics of ...

Adsorption of Helium on Cationic or Anionic Tetracene and Pentacene

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2026.
How does the arrangement of helium atoms that are adsorbed on tetracene or pentacene ions change with increasing coverage? When does the adsorption layer change from 1D to 2D, and to 3D? Is the transition abrupt? Are the helium atoms localized? Is the arrangement the same for cations and anions? What changes as the acene grows in length?
