Dual Battles: A Case Study of Lecturers Working Across Further and Higher Education

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Education, Volume 61, Issue 3, September 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper presents data from a small‐scale case study which reviewed the roles, pedagogies and identities of lecturers in dual positions working across further and higher education in England, UK. The following research questions were designed and framed with Bronfenbrenner's (1979) ecological model: (1) how do the roles of lecturers working ...

Tracing Narratives of Responsibility for Addressing Aotearoa New Zealand's Myrtle Rust Incursion 2016–2021

open access: yesNew Zealand Geographer, Volume 82, Issue 2, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Using the 2017 myrtle rust (Austropuccinia psidii) incursion into Aotearoa New Zealand as a case study, we analysed media articles to examine how roles and responsibilities of actors are framed in the biosecurity system. We reveal a multi‐layered, evolving and uncertain biosecurity system.

Harbor Porpoise and Beluga Whale Habitat Use in the Saguenay‐St. Lawrence Marine Park (Canada) Revealed by a Combination of Visual and Acoustic Survey

open access: yesMarine Mammal Science, Volume 42, Issue 3, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Studying habitat use of cetaceans that spend most of their lives underwater poses challenges, prompting the use of complementary methods. Non‐invasive methods, land‐based surveys (LBS) and passive acoustic monitoring (PAM), were used to characterize occurrence patterns of beluga whales, harbor porpoises, and vessels in the Saguenay–St ...

Nanozymes at the Bio‐Nano Interface: From Synthesis, Defect Engineering, Catalytic Behavior in Biological Microenvironments, and Biosafety Implications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 13, Issue 11, 9 June 2026.
Nanozymes (NZs) have emerged as versatile artificial enzymes with tunable catalytic properties driven by atomic coordination, defect engineering, and surface chemistry. This review presents a bio–nano interface framework linking synthesis strategies, structural design, and catalytic behavior within complex biological microenvironments.

Phylogeny of the Electric Rays of the Family Narcinidae (Gill, 1862): Systematic Review and Evidence of the Dispersal Routes to America

open access: yesAquatic Conservation: Marine and Freshwater Ecosystems, Volume 36, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT The family Narcinidae has a cosmopolitan distribution; however, its systematic composition and phylogenetic position within Torpediniformes remain poorly understood. This study evaluates the evolutionary and biogeographic history of the family Narcinidae and investigates its distribution patterns using molecular systematics.

Gale Duality and the Neighborliness of Random Polytopes. II

open access: yes, 2012
We have obtain of some distribution-independent results on the k-neighborliness of random polytopes. They confirm the well-known Gale conjecture for the general case.

Fourier-Mukai partners of non-syzygetic cubic fourfolds and Gale duality

open access: yes
We study so-called non-syzygetic cubic fourfolds, i.e., smooth cubic fourfolds containing two cubic surface scrolls in distinct hyperplanes with intersection number between the two scrolls equal to $1$. We prove that a very general non-syzygetic cubic fourfold has precisely one nontrivial Fourier-Mukai partner that is also non-syzygetic.

Sleep Traits and Cognitive Function: A Prospective Cohort Study With Exploration of Inflammatory Biomarkers

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Although sleep disturbance is closely linked to cognitive impairment, the specific sleep‐related characteristics driving this deficit remain undetermined, with the mechanistic contribution of biomarkers also poorly characterized.

Duality With Multiple Criteria And Multiple Resources

open access: yes, 1996
We consider an extension of a linear model studied by Gale, Kuhn and Tucker (GKT) for an optimization problem with multiple criteria and multiple right-hand sides (resources), in which the constraints are nonlinear convex functions.

Supporting multilingual learners in K‐12 STEM classrooms through formative assessments: A qualitative descriptive approach

open access: yesNatural Sciences Education, Volume 55, Issue 1, June 2026.
Abstract The growing number of multilingual learners (MLs) in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) classrooms in the United States has compelled teachers to innovate their instructional and assessment practices to better meet the diverse and evolving needs of students. By centering teachers’ own interpretations and reflections, this
