In this study we present an important theorem of the alternative involving convex functions and convex cones. From this theorem we develop saddle value optimality criteria and stationary optimality criteria for convex programs.

Measure‐valued processes for energy markets
Abstract We introduce a framework that allows to employ (non‐negative) measure‐valued processes for energy market modeling, in particular for electricity and gas futures. Interpreting the process' spatial structure as time to maturity, we show how the Heath–Jarrow–Morton approach can be translated to this framework, thus guaranteeing arbitrage free ...

Anselm's Temporal‐Ontological Proof
ABSTRACT In his Reply to Gaunilo, Anselm presented two additional arguments for the existence of God beyond those that appear in the Proslogion. In “The Logical Structure of Anselm's Argument,” Robert M. Adams isolates each. One, he develops into a modal ontological argument along the lines of other 20th century ontological arguments (e.g., those of ...

ABSTRACT This paper advances research on policy accumulation by analyzing its political consequences in the French housing sector. It argues that, in the context of decentralization reforms, the accumulation of policy instruments has undermined national steering capacities and intensified territorial inequalities.

Arithmetic matroids, the Tutte polynomial and toric arrangements
We introduce the notion of an arithmetic matroid whose main example is a list of elements of a finitely generated abelian group. In particular, we study the representability of its dual, providing an extension of the Gale duality to this setting.

ABSTRACT The article examines the implementation of mandatory human rights and environmental due diligence regulations as a politically formative process. Integrating insights from global value chain (GVC) research with the assumptions of legal struggles and legal endogeneity, the article analyses how administrative practice shapes the meaning and ...

CONTINUOUS CONVEX SETS AND ZERO DUALITY GAP FOR CONVEX PROGRAMS
This article uses classical notions of convex analysis over euclidean spaces, like Gale & Klee's boundary rays and asymptotes of a convex set, or the inner aperture directions defined by Larman and Brøndsted for the same class of sets, to provide a new ...

ABSTRACT This study examines the relationships of personal values and health beliefs with past and intended use of complementary, alternative and integrative medicine (CAIM) in Finland. It also investigates the extent to which CAIM users and non‐users endorse holistic versus reductionistic health beliefs and whether experiencing benefits or harms from ...
