Anti-Listeria Activities of Galleria mellonella Hemolymph Proteins
We report the use of antimicrobial hemolymph proteins from the model host Galleria mellonella as an inhibitor for various Listeria strains, providing a novel source for antilisterial therapeutics.

ABSTRACT Insects exclusively utilize their innate immunity to combat various types of microbial infections. As a part of conserved signaling pathways of innate immunity, the c‐Jun N‐terminal kinase (JNK) signaling pathway is engaged in the regulation of various stresses, development, and immunity. However, the roles of JNK signaling pathway in Tenebrio

A lytic phage cocktail targeting CRKP–CRAB mixed biofilms was systematically evaluated through in vitro, device‐associated, and in vivo models. Integrated transcriptomic analysis revealed molecular responses underlying biofilm disruption, providing mechanistic insights and experimental evidence supporting phage cocktails as a promising strategy against

Immune Response of Galleria mellonella against Human Fungal Pathogens
In many aspects, the immune response against pathogens in insects is similar to the innate immunity in mammals. This has caused a strong interest in the scientific community for the use of this model in research of host–pathogen interactions.

Fenoxycarb Effects 7th instar Galleria mellonella Larvae by Triggering Extra Larval Stages
Insect growth regulators are specific chemicals with hormonal effects on insects and these types of chemicals target to reduce the nonspecific effects of pesticides on nature and living things.

Refined methodology for quantifying Pseudomonas aeruginosa virulence using Galleria mellonella
Larvae of Galleria mellonella (the greater wax moth) are being increasingly used as a model to study microbial pathogenesis. In this model, bacterial virulence is typically measured by determining the 50% lethal dose (LD50) of a bacterial strain or ...

Fibrillogenesis in the wax-moth, Galleria mellonella [PDF]
ABSTRACT The fibroblasts of the pupa are characterized by the great development of the endoplasmic reticulum, which becomes dilated to form vesicles containing a rather electron-dense material which is thought to be a precursor of the collagen fibrils.

The entomopathogenic nematode Heterorhabditis megidis: host searching behaviour, infectivity and reproduction [PDF]
Entomopathogenic nematodes in the families Heterorhabditidae and Steinernematidae have considerable potential as biological control agents of soil-inhabiting insect pests.
