Galvanic etching for sensor fabrication

Journal of Micromechanics and Microengineering, 2000
This paper describes the application of a novel etch-stop technique, based on galvanic element formation, to the fabrication of micromechanical sensors. The theory of operation in tetramethyl ammonium hydroxide (TMAH) and hydrofluoric acid (HF) solutions is discussed, together with the main limitations. A number of devices are presented.

Design of Portable Galvanic Skin Response Sensor for Pain Sensor

2020 International Conference on Smart Technology and Applications (ICoSTA), 2020
This paper describes the design of a portable galvanic skin response (GSR) sensor for pain sensors. GSR sensors can measure electricity change in the skin. The signal results obtained are used to collect autonomic nerve responses as a function parameter of sweat ties.

APPLICATIONS OF SOLID ELECTROLYTES IN GALVANIC SENSORS

1989
The concepts and theoretical origins of conduction domains for solid electrolytes and electrode polarization are outlined briefly. The point electrode made of the ' solid electrolyte material is useful for deflecting the semipermeability flux away from the electrode.

Blood grouping using a galvanic immunoelectrode sensor

Transfusion Clinique et Biologique, 1994
Traditional blood grouping techniques have been performed using either direct or indirect hemagglutination or adherence methods. Most procedures are time-consuming to perform, labor intensive and, for the most part, have subjective interpretation. An immunoelectrode system using a pair of electrodes, with either monoclonal antibody or red cell membrane

Development of a highly sensitive galvanic cell oxygen sensor

Talanta, 1995
A highly sensitive galvanic cell oxygen sensor was successfully developed for determining parts per billion of oxygen in high purity gases such as nitrogen, argon, etc. The response of this improved sensor was proportional in the range of oxygen concentrations from 10.0 ppm to the detection limit. The response speed in this study was improved to within

Accurate voltage-to-frequency sensor with galvanic isolation and bandwidth of 375kHz

2020 IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meeting, 2020
High-bandwidth low-cost MV voltage sensors with appropriate isolation are required in MV power electronic converters for utility and industrial applications. It is especially critical in low-inertia converters (reduced passives) due to the existence of fast dynamics with reduced storage elements (dc-link, filters etc.).

Sensors based on galvanic cell generated electrochemiluminescence and its application

Analytica Chimica Acta, 2006
In this paper, a novel electrochemiluminescence (ECL) imaging sensor array was developed for determination of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), which was based on Cu/Zn alloy galvanic cell generated ECL. In alkaline solution, Cu/Zn galvanic cell was formed because of corrosion effect, the galvanic cell could supply stable potential for ECL generation of ...

A galvanic sensor for monitoring corrosion of steel in carbonated concrete

Magazine of Concrete Research, 1991
The construction and operation are described of a galvanic sensor which responds to changes in the corrosion intensity of mild steel in carbonated mortars or concretes. The sensor is simple to construct and operate; it is robust and has potential for development as an inexpensive method of long-term continuous nondestructive corrosion monitoring of ...

The status of chemical sensors for hot-dip galvanization

JOM, 1996
Alloying elements are added to the zinc used in the hot-dip galvanization of sheet steel to control the properties and appearance of the resulting coating. For example, aluminum is added to improve the corrosion resistance and adherence of the coating.

Multilayer Galvanic Cell for Next Generation Corrosion Sensors

CORROSION 2000, 2000
Abstract We describe an improved galvanic corrosion sensor element design that uses a multilayer structure to separate the anode and cathode. The improved design offers significant advantages in sensitivity and lifetime over conventional thin-film galvanic sensors.
