Games and Sub-Games [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1951
where B is a real matrix with m rows and n columns, x ranges over the set of row vectors with m components, all non-negative and adding up to one, y ranges over the corresponding set of n-component column vectors, and the pay-off, (xB, y), indicates the inner product of the two vectors xB and y.

From daily climatic scenarios to hourly atmospheric forcing fields to force Soil-Vegetation-Atmosphere transfer models

open access: yesFrontiers in Environmental Science, 2014
This paper presents a method to produce long term climatic forcing fields to force SVAT models in off-line mode. The objective is to increase the temporal frequency of existent climate projections databases from daily frequency to hourly time step to be ...

USING REMOTE CAMERAS FOR POPULATION ESTIMATION OF GOULD'S TURKEYS IN SOUTHEASTERN ARIZONA

open access: yesWildlife Society Bulletin, 2005
: We evaluated population estimation techniques for Gould's turkeys (Meleagris gallopavo mexicana) in southeastern Arizona. The Huachuca Mountain population of Gould's turkeys could be used as a source to further restoration efforts, but due to its ...

Game Theory: Noncooperative Games [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We describe noncooperative game models and discuss game theoretic solution concepts. Some applications are also noted. Conventional theory focuses on the question ‘how will rational players play?’, and has the Nash equilibrium at its core. We discuss this concept and its interpretations, as well as refinements (perfect and stable equilibria) and ...

A fully coupled Mediterranean regional climate system model: design and evaluation of the ocean component for the 1980–2012 period [PDF]

open access: yesTellus: Series A, Dynamic Meteorology and Oceanography, 2014
A fully coupled regional climate system model (CNRM-RCSM4) dedicated to the Mediterranean region is described and evaluated using a multidecadal hindcast simulation (1980–2012) driven by global atmosphere and ocean reanalysis.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Three-dimensional dust aerosol distribution and extinction climatology over northern Africa simulated with the ALADIN numerical prediction model from 2006 to 2010 [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2015
The seasonal cycle and optical properties of mineral dust aerosols in northern Africa were simulated for the period from 2006 to 2010 using the numerical atmospheric model ALADIN (Aire Limitée Adaptation dynamique Développement InterNational) coupled to ...
