The purpose of this article is to analyze the South Korea and China of computer game research, and the current state of research in Japan. Excessive game actions were analyzed by PET-MRI, MRI, fMRI, NIRS, EEG. These results showed that the prefrontal cortical activity decreased during game play.

If there is at present no official diagnosis of video games addiction, the DSM-5 proposes temporary criteria based on pathological gambling.
