Advancing in ovo egg sexing through molecular sex identification of chick embryos using LAMP and RPA assays

open access: yesScientific Reports
Despite global efforts, minimizing the culling of one-day hatched male chicks remains a critical priority in the poultry industry due to significant socio-economic concerns.

Modeling and analysis of direct internal reforming in ethanol-fueled SOFC

open access: yesEmergency Management Science and Technology
Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs), in which the chemical energy of the fuel is directly converted to electrical energy, offer a compelling alternative to combustion-based power technologies due to their fuel flexibility, high efficiency, and low emissions ...

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Anomalous $tq\gamma$ coupling effects in exclusive radiative B-meson decays

open access: yes, 2011
The top-quark FCNC processes will be searched for at the CERN LHC, which are correlated with the B-meson decays. In this paper, we study the effects of top-quark anomalous interactions $tq\gamma$ in the exclusive radiative $B\to K^*\gamma$ and $B\to\rho ...

A retrospective study demonstrating the growth patterns and the pseudoprogression temporal classification after stereotactic radiosurgery for sporadic vestibular schwannomas

open access: yesScientific Reports
Background and objectives Vestibular schwannomas are known to demonstrate tumor expansion, commonly referred to as pseudoprogression, after SRS. It is critical to differentiate between true tumor progression and pseudoprogression as this may entail ...

Olfactory Neuroblastoma Treated by Endoscopic Surgery Followed by Combined External Beam Radiation and Gamma Knife for Optic Nerve and Chiasm Sparing: A Case Report

open access: yesCase Reports in Medicine, 2011
We describe the multimodality treatment regimen of a 53-year-old man diagnosed with olfactory neuroblastoma (Kadish stage C) in the right nasal cavity extending into the ethmoid sinus and across the cribriform plate.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Measurements of the Decay $K_L \to e^+e^-\gamma$

open access: yes, 2007
The E799-II (KTeV) experiment at Fermilab has collected 83262 $K_L \to e^+e^-\gamma$ events above a background of 79 events. We measure a decay width, normalized to the $K_L \to \pi^0\pi^0\pi^0_D$ (\pi^0 \to \gamma\gamma, \pi^0 to \gamma\gamma, \pi^0_D ...

Research Pathways of Forest Above-Ground Biomass Estimation Based on SAR Backscatter and Interferometric SAR Observations

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2018
Estimation of forest biomass with synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and interferometric SAR (InSAR) observables has been surveyed in 186 peer-reviewed papers to identify major research pathways in terms of data used and retrieval models.

By dawn or dusk—how circadian timing rewrites bacterial infection outcomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The circadian clock shapes immune function, yet its influence on infection outcomes is only beginning to be understood. This review highlights how circadian timing alters host responses to the bacterial pathogens Salmonella enterica, Listeria monocytogenes, and Streptococcus pneumoniae revealing that the effectiveness of immune defense depends not only
