Two Faces of NOTCH1 in Childhood Lymphoblastic T‐Cell Neoplasia: Prognostic Divergence of Mutational and Structural Aberrations

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In pediatric patients, T‐cell lymphoblastic lymphoma (T‐LBL) survival exceeds 80%. Relapse remains associated with limited curative options. Frontline treatment is largely extrapolated from T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) treatment, reflecting the ongoing debate, whether both entities represent distinct diseases or variants within ...

A retrospective study demonstrating the growth patterns and the pseudoprogression temporal classification after stereotactic radiosurgery for sporadic vestibular schwannomas

open access: yesScientific Reports
Background and objectives Vestibular schwannomas are known to demonstrate tumor expansion, commonly referred to as pseudoprogression, after SRS. It is critical to differentiate between true tumor progression and pseudoprogression as this may entail ...

Olfactory Neuroblastoma Treated by Endoscopic Surgery Followed by Combined External Beam Radiation and Gamma Knife for Optic Nerve and Chiasm Sparing: A Case Report

open access: yesCase Reports in Medicine, 2011
We describe the multimodality treatment regimen of a 53-year-old man diagnosed with olfactory neuroblastoma (Kadish stage C) in the right nasal cavity extending into the ethmoid sinus and across the cribriform plate.

Pion-photon and photon-pion transition form factors in light-cone formalism

open access: yes, 2003
We derive the minimal Fock-state expansions of the pion and the photon wave functions in light-cone formalism, then we calculate the pion-photon and the photon-pion transition form factors of $\gamma ^{\ast}\pi ^{0}\to \gamma $ and $\gamma ^{\ast}\gamma \

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Research Pathways of Forest Above-Ground Biomass Estimation Based on SAR Backscatter and Interferometric SAR Observations

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2018
Estimation of forest biomass with synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and interferometric SAR (InSAR) observables has been surveyed in 186 peer-reviewed papers to identify major research pathways in terms of data used and retrieval models.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Prolonged Survival following Repetitive Stereotactic Radiosurgery in a Patient with Intracranial Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesCase Reports in Neurological Medicine, 2015
Patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma (RCC) to the brain have a very poor prognosis of three months if left untreated. SRS is an effective treatment modality in numerous patients.

Benchmarking the Retrieval of Biomass in Boreal Forests Using P-Band SAR Backscatter with Multi-Temporal C- and L-Band Observations

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2019
The planned launch of a spaceborne P-band radar mission and the availability of C- and L-band data from several spaceborne missions suggest investigating the complementarity of C-, L-, and P-band backscatter with respect to the retrieval of forest above ...
