Long-Term Survival after Gamma Knife Radiosurgery in a Case of Recurrent Glioblastoma Multiforme: A Case Report and Review of the Literature

open access: yesCase Reports in Medicine, 2012
The management of recurrent glioblastoma is highly challenging, and treatment outcomes remain uniformly poor. Glioblastoma is a highly infiltrative tumor, and complete surgical resection of all microscopic extensions cannot be achieved at the time of ...

Dysphagia, dysphonia & dyspnoe caused by ostrich beak-like anterior C1-C2 cervical osteophyte

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Neurosurgery, 2019
Diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH) or Forestier's disease is associated with cervical osteophytes, most commonly at the C5–6 level. We report a large beak-like anterior osteophyte at C1/C2 level presenting with severe dysphagia, dysphonia ...

Early-onset adverse events after stereotactic radiosurgery for jugular foramen schwannoma: a mid-term follow-up single-center review of 46 cases

open access: yesRadiation Oncology, 2022
Background Recently, stereotacitc radiosurgery (SRS) has been in the spotlight as an alternative therapeutic option for jugular foramen schwannomas (JFS). While most reported studies focus on the long-term efficacy and safety issues of SRS, none describe

Assessment of the accuracy and stability of frameless gamma knife radiosurgery

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, 2018
The aim of this study was to assess the accuracy and stability of frameless gamma knife radiosurgery (GKRS). The accuracies of the radiation isocenter and patient couch movement were evaluated by film dosimetry with a half‐year cycle. Radiation isocenter

Ejecta‐Modulated Bubble Dynamics Play a Dominant Role in Stone Retropulsion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Stone motion during laser ablation is shown to result primarily from asymmetric cavitation bubble collapse, not from ejecta recoil. This challenges long‐standing assumptions and highlights the dominant role of bubble dynamics in laser–material interactions.

T Cell Exhaustion in Cancer Immunotherapy: Heterogeneity, Mechanisms, and Therapeutic Opportunities

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
T cell exhaustion limits immunotherapy efficacy. This article delineates its progression from stem‐like to terminally exhausted states, governed by persistent antigen, transcription factors, epigenetics, and metabolism. It maps the exhaustion landscape in the TME and proposes integrated reversal strategies, providing a translational roadmap to overcome
