The Kumaraswamy Pareto IV Distribution
We introduce a new model named the Kumaraswamy Pareto IV distribution which extends the Pareto and Pareto IV distributions. The density function is very flexible and can be left-skewed, right-skewed and symmetrical shapes.

Quasi-Hopf twist and elliptic Nekrasov factor
We investigate the quasi-Hopf twist of the quantum toroidal algebra of gl 1 $$ {\mathfrak{gl}}_1 $$ as an elliptic deformation. Under the quasi-Hopf twist the underlying algebra remains the same, but the coproduct is deformed, where the twist parameter p

Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Testing Quarkonium Production with Photoproduced $J/\psi + \gamma$
I compute the leading color-octet contributions to the process $\gamma + p \to J/\psi + \gamma (+ X)$ within the non-relativistic QCD (NRQCD) factorization formalism.

We have used cDNA probes for two small vitamin K-dependent bone matrix proteins, bone Gla protein (BGP) and matrix Gla protein (MGP), to evaluate the possibility that either of these proteins might be synthesized by the various soft tissues previously shown to have gamma-carboxylase activity.

We found that during chemotherapy‐induced alopecia (CIA), Sonic hedgehog (Shh) expression significantly decreased in hair follicle Shh+ cells, whereas the Janus‐activated kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription 1 (JAK/STAT1) signaling pathway was markedly activated.

Three loop renormalization of 3-quark operators in QCD
We compute the three loop MSbar anomalous dimension for the 3-quark operator corresponding to the proton. This requires the treatment of gamma^5 within dimensional regularization as well as evanescent operators generated through the renormalization.

Aged human bmMSCs are seeded in the scaffold. Osteoblastic induction can slightly increase cell's bone‐forming activity to produce bone‐like tissues, shown as the sporadic xylenol orange‐stained spots (the lower left image). Notably, pioglitazone plus EGCG co‐treatment dramatically increases cell's bone‐forming activity and bone‐like tissue production (

A truncated matrix variate gamma distribution
A truncated form of a matrix variate gamma distribution is introduced and a number of properties of this distribution such as cumulative distribution function, orthogonal invariance, moment generating function, marginal distribution of block matrices ...

Gamma-carboxylation regulates osteocalcin function
The only well described function of vitamin K (VK) is to serve as a co-factor for the γ-carboxylation of particular proteins to convert specific glutamic acid (Glu) residues to γ-carboxyglutamic acid (Gla) residues.
