A Study on the Application of Gamma Transmission Techniques on the Quality Control of Sandcrete Block

open access: yesPhysical Science International Journal, 2019
This study considered the setup of gamma transmission facility to develop a methodology for determining the amount of cement in sandcrete block. Twelve block samples was moulded in varying sand/cement ratio. The 12 samples each were measured both in volume, masses and density.

Investigation of Behaviour of Titanium Diboride Reinforced Boron Carbide-Silicon Carbide Composites against Cs-137 Gamma Radioisotope Source by Using Gamma Transmission Technique

open access: yesActa Physica Polonica A, 2012
Boron carbide is a material which has wide application areas in industry including nuclear technology. Titanium diboride reinforced boron carbide‐silicon carbide composites were studied for searching of the behaviour against the gamma ray. It has been adopted that depending on their properties such improved materials can be used in nuclear technology ...

Comparison of Gamma Sources (Cobalt and Cesium) for Density Measurement of Metals and Alloys via Using Transmission Technique

open access: yesJournal of Engineering Technology and Applied Sciences, 2021
One of the solutions for density measurement is to make use of gamma-ray transmission technique. We studied by this technique, using by Co-60 and Cs-137. Each source, without materials in geometry, was counted and noted intensities as (I0). All materials were counted and noted intensities as (I). [I/I0] rates were calculated.

The first result in the determination of the percentage concentration of sulfuric acid solution based on the gamma transmission technique with an energy of 662 ke

open access: yesScience and Technology Development Journal - Natural Sciences, 2021
In this study, we propose an approach using the gamma transmission technique based on the combination of the experimental and simulated data for determining the percentage concentration of the acid solution. The experiment consists of a collimated 137Cs radioactive source emitting a narrow gamma beam of 662 keV and a NaI(Tl) detector.

Examination for Practical Use in Dual Energy Gamma-ray Transmission Techniques. Application to Grading of Gold Alloys.

open access: yesRADIOISOTOPES, 1995
For practical use of dual energy gamma-ray transmission techniques in various fields, necessary conditions have been examined experimentally. The study revealed the necessary conditions shown in the following : (1) the shape and size of the collimator aperture for a gamma-ray beam must be changed according to those of a sample to be measured, (2) a ...

Monte Carlo approach to evaluate the small angle scattering effects in collimated beam by gamma transmission technique

open access: yesJournal of Nuclear Science and Technology
This study introduces a Monte Carlo simulation method to remove small-angle scattering from gamma transmission spectra. Using MCNP-CP v3.2, it employs a collimated 137Cs source emitting a 662 keV gamma narrow beam, targets of varying thickness, and a NaI(Tl) detector.

An approach based on gamma-ray transmission technique and artificial neural network for accurately measuring the thickness of various materials

open access: yesNuclear Technology and Radiation Protection
This paper presents an approach based on the gamma-ray transmission technique and artificial neural network for accurately measuring the thickness of various materials in flat sheet form. The gamma-ray transmission system comprises a NaI(Tl) scintillation detector coupled with a 137Cs radioactive source.
