On-line nuclear ash gauge for coal based on gamma-ray transmission techniques
Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 1999Developments and applications of on-line nuclear gauges in the coal industry are highly requested. In this work, a nuclear ash gauge for coal, based on γ-ray transmission techniques is developed. Single and dual energy γ-ray beams are used to determine the ash content of coal.

Sulphur content estimation of Venezuelan heavy oil by fast neutron and gamma transmission technique
Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 2017A compact and modern equipment for implementing the fast neutron and γ-ray transmission technique (FNGT) has been developed in order to estimate the sulphur content of crude oil. FNGT is employed for non- destructive analysis of different kinds of samples.

Abstract The use of dual energy γ-ray transmission techniques to determine the concentration of a higher atomic number (Z) component in a lower Z matrix is investigated. Examples discussed are the determination of lead in lead-zinc ore, iron in high-grade iron ore, uranium in solution, and ash in coal. These examples are considered in relation to the

The aim of this study is to apply gamma ray transmission (GRT), a non destructive technique, in the structural characterization of low-porosity ceramic samples. GRT technique is based on the attenuation that photons of an incident radiation beam undergo when passing through the material.

This paper focuses on the fluid-fluid, fluid-air interface level detection and density determination by gamma scattering method and intercomparison with transmission (gammatography) technique. The Monte Carlo (MC) numerical simulation of the scattering phenomena is done using the MCNP code. The obtained accuracies and resolution of the level detections

Precipitates of the ordered L1(2) gamma' phase (dispersed in the face-centered cubic or FCC gamma matrix) were imaged in Rene 88 DT, a commercial multicomponent Ni-based superalloy, using energy-filtered transmission electron microscopy (EFTEM). Imaging was performed using the Cr, Co, Ni, Ti and Al elemental L-absorption edges in the energy loss ...
