Without good models and the right tools to interpret them, data scientists risk making decisions based on hidden biases, spurious correlations, and false generalizations. This has led to a rallying cry for model interpretability. Yet the concept of interpretability remains nebulous, such that researchers and tool designers lack actionable guidelines ...

Spectral gamuts and spectral gamut mapping
SPIE Proceedings, 2006All imaging devices have two gamuts: the stimulus gamut and the response gamut. The response gamut of a print engine is typically described in CIE colorimetry units, a system derived to quantify human color response. More fundamental than colorimetric gamuts are spectral gamuts, based on radiance, reflectance or transmittance units.

The gamut of paracoccidioidomycosis
The American Journal of Medicine, 1976Paracoccidioidomycosis is a systemic mycosis of importance in Latin America. Because of its polymorphic manifestations, it is not always suspected and patients are sometimes misdiagnosed. Case histories of patients with paracoccidioidomycosis are presented in order to illustrate its various manifestations, with emphasis on the primary pulmonary ...

Abstract Histoplasmosis is a common infection in many parts of the world and is provenly endemic in large areas of the United States. The infection is, statistically, benign and self-limited, but fatal infections are not unknown. Hematogenous dissemination occurs in at least 70 per cent of asymptomatic cases.

A multilevel gamut extension method for Wide Gamut Displays
2011 International Conference on Electric Information and Control Engineering, 2011For ideal color reproduction on Wide Gamut Displays, a multi-level gamut extension method is introduced. The proposed method includes varying nonlinear extension based on hue and image-dependent chrominance smoothing. The first step is global gamut mapping and solves heavily painted problem with hue-varying extension function.

Calculating medium and image gamut boundaries for gamut mapping
Color Research & Application, 2000The Segment Maxima Method for calculating gamut boundary descriptors of both colour reproduction media and colour images is introduced. Methods for determining the gamut boundary along a given line of mapping used by gamut mapping algorithms are then described, whereby these methods use the Gamut Boundary Descriptor obtained using the Segment Maxima ...

Gamut mapping for the Perceptual Reference Medium Gamut
2013 Colour and Visual Computing Symposium (CVCS), 2013A requirement for a baseline algorithm for mapping from the ICC Perceptual Reference Medium Gamut to destination media in ICC output profiles has been identified. Before such a baseline algorithm can be recommended, it requires careful evaluation by the user community.

Color gamut boundary optimization of wide gamut display devices
SPIE Proceedings, 2011High-end monitors based on LCD technology increasingly address wide color gamut implementations featuring precise color calibration within a variety of different color spaces such as extended sRGB or AdobeRGB. Combining a Look- Up-Table method with linear interpolation in RGB component space using 3x3 matrix multiplication provides optimized means ...
