Pinellia pedatisecta Schott‐Derived Exosome‐Like Nanovesicles Promote Apoptosis in Colorectal Cancer by Regulating the Lysosome‐Mediated Mitophagy Pathway

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2026.
Pinellia pedatisecta Schott‐derived exosome‐like nanovesicles (PPS‐ELNs) are efficiently taken up by colorectal cancer (CRC) cells and exhibit tumor‐targeting properties. Mechanistically, PPS‐ELNs suppress tumor progression by inhibiting the proliferation of CRC cells and promoting apoptosis through regulation of the lysosome‐mediated mitophagy pathway.

Ameliorative Effects of Aerobic Exercise Combined With Lycium barbarum Polysaccharide‐Mediated Gut Microbiota Remodeling on Glycolipid Abnormalities in Type 2 Diabetic Rats

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2026.
This schematic illustrates the protective effects of aerobic exercise and Lycium barbarum polysaccharide in a rat model of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), which was induced by high‐fat/high‐sugar feeding and streptozotocin (STZ) injection. Both interventions target the gut microbiota to promote short‐chain fatty acid production, thereby regulating ...

The Effects of Soy Protein–Rich Meals on Muscle Health of Older Adults Are Linked to Gut Microbiome Modifications

open access: yesJournal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle, Volume 17, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Sarcopenia is characterized by accelerated muscle mass and function loss in older adults. The role of nutritional interventions in sarcopenia is uncertain. This study investigates whether a soy protein–rich diet can enhance muscle health in older adults via gut microbiota changes.
