Control Strategy for Automatic Gantry Crane Systems: A Practical and Intelligent Approach

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems, 2008
The use of gantry crane systems for transporting payload is very common in building constructions. However, moving the payload using the crane is not an easy task especially when strict specifications on the swing angle and on the transfer time need to ...

Digital simulation of load-bearing structures with movable cargo carts [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
The process of digital simulation of the design parameters of load-bearing structures when moving a cargo cart on them is developed on the example of a load-bearing beam of a crane (bridge. gantry, ...). This process includes three main stages. The first

Robust control for gantry cranes

open access: yes, 1999
In this thesis a class of robust non-linear controllers for a gantry crane system are discussed. The gantry crane has three degrees of freedom, all of which are interrelated. These are the horizontal traverse of the cart, the vertical motion of the goods (i.e. rope length) and the swing angle made by the goods during the movement of the cart.

Underwater unexploded ordnance discrimination based on intrinsic target polarizabilities – A case study

open access: yesGeophysical Prospecting, Volume 73, Issue 1, Page 315-329, January 2025.
Abstract Seabed unexploded ordnance that resulted partly from the high failure rate among munitions from more than 80 years ago and from decades of military training and testing of weapons systems poses an increasing concern all around the world. Although existing magnetic systems can detect clusters of debris, they are not able to tell whether a ...

Dynamic Modeling and Validation of Dual-Cable Double-Pendulum Systems for Gantry Cranes

open access: yesMachines
This paper presents a novel dynamic modeling framework for gantry crane systems based on the cart double pendulum with dual cables (CDPD) model. The CDPD model systematically incorporates the effects of dual suspension cables, equalizer beams, and closed-

New Method for Designing and Assembling Segmental Cut‐and‐Cover Tunnel Lining in High‐Speed Railway Based on Cross‐Sectional Dimensions

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Based on the structural gauge of high‐speed railway and interior contour of high‐speed railway tunnel in which high‐speed trains travel at the velocity from 300 to 350 km/h on double tracks, and considering the characteristics of designing the cross section of arch‐shaped cut‐and‐cover tunnel lining (CCTL) with both curved haunches and invert, the ...
