Abstract A narrow gap (Discovery Gap) in the East Azores Fracture Zone at 37°N in the eastern Atlantic provides a channel for the exchange of bottom water between the Madeira and Iberian abyssal basins. A detailed survey defines its length (150 km), width (10–50 km), depth of sills (near 4800 m) and sediment thickness (0–500 m).

This paper presents results from a thorough study of the tip-gap turbulent flow structure in a low-speed linear compressor cascade wind tunnel at Virginia Tech. Information flow and gaps

In this paper we provide an outline of a model for the flow information in conversations. We explain the model by means of a metaphor. We propose that certain natural language phrases (i.e., anaphoric expressions and questions) are used to express gaps. These gaps are what gives rise to information flow in conversations.
