Electrode and Microstructure Dependence of Oxygen Diffusion in Ferroelectric Hafnium Zirconium Oxide Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Significant nanoscale oxygen diffusion coefficient variations are measured in ferroelectric hafnium zirconium oxide films with grain boundaries and electrode interfaces exhibiting values 104 times larger than the grain cores. Overall coefficients are 10X larger for films prepared with metal nitride electrodes compared to refractory metals. New insights

Dynamics of gas bubbles under acoustic excitation

open access: yesУчёные записки Казанского университета: Серия Физико-математические науки, 2018
The dynamics of two gas (air) bubbles in liquid (water) under the action of an ultrasonic traveling wave has been considered. The wave propagates along the straight passing through the bubble centers.

Two-Phase Bubble Columns: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesChemEngineering, 2018
We present a comprehensive literature review on the two-phase bubble column; in this review we deeply analyze the flow regimes, the flow regime transitions, the local and global fluid dynamics parameters, and the mass transfer phenomena.

A novel separation technique: Gas-assisted three-liquid-phase extraction for treatment of the phenolic wastewater

open access: yes, 2010
A novel technique, gas-assisted three-liquid-phase extraction (GATE), was proposed to improve three-liquid-phase separation of p-nitrophenol (p-NP) and o-nitrophenol (o-NP) from wastewater.

Hybrid continuum–molecular modelling of multiscale internal gas flows [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We develop and apply an efficient multiscale method for simulating a large class of low-speed internal rarefied gas flows. The method is an extension of the hybrid atomistic–continuum approach proposed by Borg et al.

Resolving the Cu(bdc) Conundrum: Identifying Non‐Porous Packing of Prototypical Coordination‐Network Thin Films Combining Advanced Diffraction Techniques and Computational Modelling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Solution‐processed Cu(bdc) forms prototypical MOF thin films for which a multitude of not fully satisfactory structural models have been suggested. Combining rotating grazing‐incidence diffraction and X‐ray reflectivity on two complementary samples with density‐functional theory, we first discard the previously suggested models and then identify a non ...

Effect of Adding Alcohols and Gas Velocity on Gas Hold up and Mass Transfer Coefficient in Bubble Columns with Draught Tube

open access: yesAl-Khawarizmi Engineering Journal, 2009
The bubble columns are widely used as a two or three phase reactor in industrial chemical process such as absorption, biochemical reactions, coal liquefaction, etc.

Long‐Range Coordination Environment Modulates Single‐Atom Local States and Systemic Impact on CO2 Photoconversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Terminal groups on Cu porphyrins modulate the electronic states of single‐atom Cu centers through a long‐range electronic effect, without altering the Cu coordination geometry. Meanwhile, a multi‐descriptor framework is established that incorporates porphyrin regulation, hybrid catalyst properties, and CO2 photoreduction capabilities.

Comparison of the Viscous Liquids Spraying by the OIG and the Oil Configurations of an Effervescent Atomizer at Low Inlet Pressures

open access: yesJournal of Mechanical Engineering, 2016
In this work we studied the influence of the fluid injection configuration (OIG: outside-in-gas, OIL: outside-in-liquid) on the internal flows and external sprays parameters.

Gas-liquid and liquid-liquid mass transfer in microstructured reactors

open access: yes
This article is a comprehensive overview of gas-liquid and liquid-liquid mass transfer in microstructured reactors (MSR). MSR are known to offer high heat and mass transfer rates for two phase systems due to high surface to volume ratio as compared to ...
