Comprehensive Peptide Profiling Reveals the Influence of Streptococcus Thermophilus, Lactobacillus Delbrueckii Subsp. bulgaricus, and Endogenous Milk Proteases on the Hydrolysis of Milk Proteins During Early‐Stage Lactic Acid Fermentation

open access: yesChemFoodChem, EarlyView.
Untargeted peptide profiling investigates how S. thermophilus, Lb. bulgaricus, and endogenous milk enzymes impact proteolysis during early‐stage milk fermentation. ≥ 3000 identified peptides show the strongest influence of LB on the peptide profile and number of bioactive peptides. Shorter peptides are mostly formed by LB and hydrolyzed by ST.

New Insights into Poly(Dichlorophosphazene) Synthesis via Me3Si─N═PCl3 Polymerization: An Experimental and Theoretical Study

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Poly(dichlorophosphazene) synthesis via Me3Si─N═PCl3 polymerization was reinvestigated using quantum chemical calculations and experiments. A cationic initiator (Ph3PCl2) enables ambient‐temperature polymerization through chloride‐catalyzed cationic pathways involving dissociation, nucleophilic chloride attack, and chain‐propagating species formation ...

Rethinking Climate Change on the Role of Human Power Generation, Alternative Perspectives, Potential Solutions, and a Plea for Action

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
All energy matters Let us broaden the discussion on solutions to climate change. Greenhouse gases have upset the delicate equilibrium of the Earth's energy balance. Consequently, all sources of heat affect the temperature of the Earth. Although the amount of additional heat generated by humans is a fraction of that produced by the sun, it is generated ...

Comparative Assessment of Methanol Production Pathways From Steel Mill Gases

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
This publication reviews the process concepts and assessments for converting steel mill gases into sustainable methanol, focusing on energy efficiency, and the regulatory framework. From an energy perspective, the production of methanol from BOFG and H2 separated from coke oven gas is of particular interest.
